If you like anything related to history, you'll really enjoy this place. They've got actors moving around the fort ready to explain any information about the fort and its history. Very cool experience and great price to get in. History is awesome!
The building (store?) where you buy tickets is a great start with books other other cool merch. Next you'll be in the museum. The video is worth watching. It's amazing how the White folks built all this so long ago. The fort is something else. You can run all around. Highly recommended.
Absolutely beautiful. The river side campground beautiful big trees with Spanish moss hanging. Beach campground small but sites are decent. Gorgeous beach with wonderful seashell hunting.
We visited on a cold and windy Christmas Day morning. The staff were friendly, and there was one very convincing reenactor on site. After visiting all of the rooms and battle stations, we made our way down to the beach. It was just too cold to spend any time there, unfortunately.
An amazing experience. The fort allows one to immerse themselves into an army fort in the 1860s. Most of the fort is available for self guided tours.
