I visited yesterday, to do some biking and to sit by the ocean. I was not disappointed it was gorgeous. The bike path is great. Pretty smooth and not very crowded yet. North Beach was closed so the ride was a bit shorter than I had hoped. I ended up going thru the campground, exited the park and biked on the road. A great place for families as well.
Absolutely beautiful campground. Very clean and well maintained. Great playground for children, and plenty of spots if you have pets.
We went here today, post hurricane, I felt so bad for the piers and beaches, but because of various parts of the park being down from cleanup and fix-up, we were relegated to the campsites and the Fort. It was breathtaking, imperfections and all.
5 star visit. We had a great time at Fort De Soto. Thursday in September. We checked the fort out ($5 parking) then drove down midway between the pier and north beach. There were paths we followed to an almost secluded beach. Shelling was the beat we've seen yet here! If you have kids, be cautious as you head north on the beach as we found some "uncovered" men on the beach! Whoops! Lol! It was a great time though and we will be back! Wish we would have skipped the other beaches and came here first!
We went there to spend time with my sisters. This is their favorite beach in Florida. It is beautiful and you can see through the water. The shells are amazing and the sea creatures are also cute, we found snails and hermit crabs(we put the back of course), definitely fun for all ages!
