Love this campground! Perfect for tent campers. We chose to stay in the forest section, the sites were nicely spaced apart from other campers. They have a nice hilltop section to see Lake Superior. Cleanest pit toilets too! There is a beach pull off not even 5 minutes down the road. The host/owner was super sweet and informative. Would recommend to anyone who loves to tent camp!
Our experience at Fort Superior Campground was exceptional. We were very impressed with way the owners have worked with the land to create fairly spaced out and secluded/private tent sites. There is a well pump to fill water containers and the permanent outhouses were some of the cleanest I’ve ever seen. The picnic tables on each site are equipped with lantern hooks as an added convenience for campers. Our site had ample spots to hang my hammock which is always a bonus for me. Another added bonus, there is a viewpoint with an unbelievable view of Lake Superior. If you enjoy primitive camping with the convenience and safety of being in a campground, this is your spot.
This was our first time at Fort Superior-we loved our stay! It was easy to find, check in was smooth, and the owners were kind and helpful. We stayed on Site 20-it felt nice and secluded and offered great space to have our tent in one areas with yard games in another. It was quiet and peaceful at night and the weather made sleeping great! The common area in the upper area is really cool with some Rosetta great views of the bay! Munising is maybe five minutes away which made it easy to get to town if we needed. We loved staying here and will plan to stay again if we are in the area!
I recently had the most incredible camping experience at the Fort Superior Campground thanks to the wonderfully nice family who owns it. They went above and beyond to make our weekend unforgettable when I proposed to my fiancée. From helping us set up a beautifully decorated campsite to their warm hospitality throughout our stay, they truly made all the difference. I can't thank them enough for their role in making this momentous occasion so memorable. Highly recommend this campground for anyone looking for not just a place to stay, but an experience filled with warmth and care. The campsite is very well managed and in such a great location. We will definitely be back to Fort Superior the next time we are in Munising!
Stayed for 2 nights solo at #28. Close to pit toilets and water. The view was fantastic. It was perfectly quiet at night and windy since you’re out in the open so keep that in mind. Roads are all sand/gravel so just drive slow but doable for any vehicle. There is firewood available for $10 cash. I used the showers right across the highway at the big campground for $8. Also to add I had signal on my phone the entire time (Verizon). Would definitely stay again!
We loved staying here! We stayed on 24 and had the most breathtaking views. Its close to all the attractions whether you want to hike, kayak, do a boat tour, or just walk around the area. Everything is super convenient and you can't beat the peacefulness you get back from a day of exploring. We loved it so much we are already planning another weekend to camp here!
Beautiful scenery you can camp outside overlooking the water. They are also close in tents with bunkbeds in them. You can do a fire there are clean individual bathroom toilets You can buy firewood for $10 Adam and Jennifer Laufenberg are great host. They will accommodate you and make your stay as pleasant as possible. You will love it out in the woods and there are munising falls to tour and glass bottom boats here in Munising. A great fish fry and take out pizzas in town. Come and check it out for yourself or you can go online and make a reservation. Falling Rock cafe is a great place to have a cup of coffee and sit down and read books and they have a children’s area and some music in the afternoon. Good place for a family.
This place is awesome. You can tell that Adam and his wife put their heart and soul into building this place. Its very clean and well thought out. We will be back very soon to enjoy it again!
