We pulled into this campground in mid September 2025. What a pleasant surprise! This is a great campground, very rustic, very quiet, nicely wooded. There is potable water but no electricity. We will definitely stay again!

Stayed at Fort Wilderness Campground over the July 4th 2025 holiday. As for the campsite its rustic, nice layout, quiet. We were told of a beach access easement off M-25 an approx. 12 min walk from campsite. We went there on the 4th and had a confrontation with a homeowner who said private beach property. Told us there was an 25' easement for residents of the Woodland Estates Subdivision only. This isn't what we were told when we rented. Nothing more embarrassing then getting told to leave or the Huron County Sheriff would be called. To Fort Wilderness Owner Mr Alan Ward with that said you better be honest about your beach access, according to the people on the easement it is a private easement for owners in Woodland Estates Subdivision. Will not be staying here again for that reason.

I stayed in Fort Wilderness Campground on Saturday/Sunday of Labor Day weekend 2024. I could not believe how nice, quiet and safe this was. I think it’s a hidden gem!!! Beautiful roomy sites, very well maintained, nice port-a-pots (2), and a very large community campfire area with grills. No power, no hook-ups for campers, but there is water at the entrance. Each site has a campfire ring and picnic table. Very woodsy and peaceful. I would recommend this to anyone looking to rustic camp. It’s just a quick drive to Lake Huron, Caseville area. Thanks Allan Ward for having a great place to relax and enjoy nature close to the beautiful Lake Huron!!
