For Alabama residents searching for a top-tier outdoor escape that combines the tranquility of nature with the convenience of modern amenities, look no further than Foscue Creek Park. Located in Demopolis, a historic city in the heart of the state’s Black Belt region, Foscue Creek is consistently hailed as one of the finest campgrounds in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (COE) system along the Black Warrior-Tombigbee Waterway.

Nestled on the forested shores of Demopolis Lake, the largest body of water on the entire Waterway, Foscue Creek Park offers a peaceful, well-maintained retreat for all types of campers, especially those traveling in large recreational vehicles (RVs). The park's setting is genuinely spectacular, situated on a quiet slough just off the main Tombigbee River. 📍 Location and Accessibility

Foscue Creek Park boasts an accessible yet secluded location in Marengo County, making it a desirable destination for campers traveling from across Alabama and beyond. It strikes an excellent balance, feeling miles away from the hustle and bustle while remaining just a short drive from essential services in Demopolis.

Official Address:

1800 Lock and Dam Rd, Demopolis, AL 36732, USA

The campground is conveniently located approximately three miles west of Demopolis, just off U.S. Highway 80. While the physical address is clear, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers advises travelers, particularly those pulling large RVs or trailers, to avoid relying solely on GPS navigation for the final approach, as some routes may not be favorable for large camping units. Follow the highway signs and directions from the main roads for the smoothest entry.

Access is controlled, and for security and the peace of mind of all campers, the main gate is strictly locked nightly, typically from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. This policy ensures quiet hours are respected and enhances the secure, tranquil atmosphere of the park. Additionally, the proximity to Demopolis means that grocery stores, gas stations, and other amenities are a quick trip away, adding to the convenience of an extended stay.

Great campground on the Warrior river. If you’ve never been you really need to go. But if you have a large camper might want to call ahead and make sure you can fit before you blind book. Our camper is 40 foot and there’s some sites we couldn’t fit in.

Foscue Creek Campground is a beautiful COE park with full hook ups at most sites. We stayed in site #33 which is a level, back in site with a concrete pad and gravel around an aluminum picnic table and fire ring. The campsites are spaced well enough apart from neighbors to feel some privacy. Our site was right next to a bridge, so our pad faced a small area of stagnant water. We loved seeing all the turtles in the water, even counting as many as 33 at one time. The one downside we experienced was the gnats, all over the campground – they were relentless and put a damper on being able to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. Both our T-Mobile home internet and Verizon phone coverage worked well.

Other than the occasional train and river barge, this place is quiet. Most of the sites are on or next to water and quite large. This is a very nice campground. The rangers and the campground hosts were fantastic. The restrooms and showers were clean. There's also a boat launch and 2 playrounds on site. Unfortunately, not much to do in town, but it is close by.

Beautiful little Corps of Engineers RV campground along the river. Fantastic shower house, immaculate sites with paved pad and spacious packed stone patio area. Grill, fire ring, picnic table and utility table included. Nearly all sites have full hook ups. Only a few in a low setting close to the water do not. Highly recommended.

This was a great place to stop off for the night. We needed to do a little fix up on our adventure trailer and needed a concrete pad for it. The park was big, the people were nice and everything was manicured. Beautiful clean park! They had showers, bathrooms, and a playground. As well as easy access to the river, since it was water front. It's quite easy to get in and out of, even if you are a big rig. The hosts were nice and welcoming.
