We travel around the U.S., Mexico and Canada with our 5 dogs. We usually seek out KOAs because we feel welcome with that many dogs and there usually aren’t any ridiculous limits on how many dogs you can have. We felt welcome at this campground - they even charged us $2.00 per dog which I was completely happy to pay rather than be turned away. Nice grounds for walking, beautiful pond, nice fenced in dog run. Only criticism: After hours available sites were posted but there should be a map or an envelope you can take so that the spot you picked is clearly not available anymore. If the available sites are just posted I can pick a spot and somebody else might be in it.

We only saw the camp from the cover of night. We were passing through the area and needed a pull thru site so we could sleep and keep moving. The office folks were friendly and helpful. We pulled in around 10 pm, stopped by the office and got our paperwork. Drove to a level pull through with clean power and water. What we could see, was a full campground of later model campers from Trailers to Class A. The bathhouse was operating room clean. The camp office, laundry and bath house are well lit and secure. Fredericksburg/Washington DC South KOA defines the type of convenience, safety, cleanliness and customer service the camping lifestyle requires. BRAVO!! We will be back for more than one night. We camped at Fredericksburg / Washington DC South KOA Holiday in a Travel Trailer.

This is one of our very favorite KOAs. It’s close enough to DC for a quick getaway and far enough for it to be meaningful. There’s also a lot to do close by and plenty of places for provisions to include one of the better KOA stores to keep your camping trip from ending badly. The pond is a nice touch and in the time I took to write a review an observed a camper catch a small fish and throw it back (not supposed to keep). Dog friendly with a fenced area for them to play with other dogs.

Staff was knowledgeable, help full and friendly. Bathrooms were exceptionally clean, cleanest in the industry. The grounds were clean and well maintained. Location was easy to get on and off 95 and RT1 The photos of the cabins make them look bigger than they really are. My family rented a deluxe cabin, unfortunately the cabin needs a remodel ( see photos ) the queen bed frame was noisy, every time I moved it squeaked. The queen bed also had a slight smell, to the point that I went into the bunk room to sleep. The bunk room also got really hot even with the AC on. The couch/bed was uncomfortable. I will return with my own camper , 4 days is just not enough time to do all we wanted to do.

Awesome perfect KOA campground to stay at for all kinds of historical excursions. Quiet, plenty of room on the sites, activities depending on the season, very clean bathrooms, laundry rooms & showers, very kind & helpful staff members. A super great place to camp!! We were here for 12 nights and had an awesome site!!
