"This was a really fun campsite. We saw a deer as soon as we got out of the car. There are picnic tables, a fire pit, and bathrooms. Our site was on the larger side so we had plenty of room for 2 tents and our car. The stars are incredible at night. So is the moon. There is no cell phone service."

Positive reviews emphasize the campground's natural beauty, wildlife encounters, and stargazing opportunities. However, visitors note that reservations should be made well in advance and highlight generator restrictions for RV users.

This campground is nearly perfect. I stayed in B loop at site 30, right on the corner and next to the Fremont River Trail and swimming access to the river. The only reason I knock of one star is because it gets every hot in the summer and there is very little shade at our site. The sun came blasting in to our trailer all late afternoon and evening. It made it unbearably hot inside. Other than that, this campground is amazing. The fire pits are large. The sites are spacious with long enough driveways for a 24 foot trailer and a truck. The bathrooms were very clean and had two stalls and two urinals. There was also a gray water sink. When the sun is setting you get a lovely view of the sun hitting the cliffs. There is plenty to do nearby, as the Gifford House and Visitor’s Center for Capitol Reef are a short walk. It was nice to have a campground with grass instead of dirt, as well, although the grass attracts flies.

We love this campground. It is like an oasis in the desert. Camp host was nice and helpful. There are couple hiking trails right from the campground. And their pies just amazing!!!! Be aware they are good for 4 days without refrigeration, so make sure you get extra for the rest of your trip. The only thing was- we didn’t have a fire ring on our side ( but it was too windy anyway to have a fire) and it was a hard to park our 21 feet trail on that spot. The most of the sides are very roomy. We would love to come back.

This is a really nice National Park campground. Many of the sites are large and all are spread out and come with a picnic table and a fire ring. Restrooms are clean and have flush toilets. There are many shade trees and lots of grass areas. Best of all is the spectacular views of the red cliffs!! The Fremont River trail is a nice hike from the campground. The last half of it is pretty steep but it affords wonderful views from the top. Fruita campground provides two programs a day, 3 pm is geology and the night program has many different topics. We went to several programs and they were all excellent!
