This place use to be great but recently it has gone way down hill. First, the lakes are horrible, they are not maintained at all, people have recommended shocking them for a few years and no one listens. You would think with all the water and area the fish population could self sustain but that is not the case here. You can fish all weekend all hours and not catch anything. You would have better luck catching a turtle since they are over populated here. Next, the staff doesn't seem to care about who they let in, day pass people and seasonal/permanent spot campers. There has been an influx of people being allowed to get spots just for simply paying. They are rude, obnoxious, and lets just say it, complete trash! Refunds should be given and told just to leave otherwise the good campers will all soon be gone and you will have Law Enforcement out there regularly. Lastly the new host that is out there is overwhelmed with the job. Garbage cans over flowing and not being dumped, tree limbs laying all over, port-a-potties not being taken care of, and shower house and bathrooms constantly filthy.
If you want to come here and fish, just don't. Fishing has declined over the years, and every year management changes. There is increasingly more snobby and loud campers, and everywhere has become private. Lakes are usually trashed with waste by those same people. Only changes ive seen over the past decade is more private access signs and road signs put up. Rates keep increasing while benefits go down. It wasnt always like this. Dont waste your time coming here.
Beautiful, peaceful recreational area. Wildlife, lakes and great people. Been coming here for 30 years
A beautiful place to camp! Quiet & peaceful! So many deer that you can't go an hour without see some. The wildlife is amazing! The set up of the individual campsites is perfect!! Not too close! You have privacy. Everybody seems to be friendly as well!
Best tent camping in the area! It’s clean, peaceful, and beautiful! Tent sites are VERY roomy, and fire rings and picnic tables are available at every site. Plenty of tent sites have electric. Staff is friendly and informative! Skip some of the other campgrounds in the area and just go to this one! This place is convenient to Canton, Cuba, Lewistown, Havana, and more. NOTE ABOUT POTABLE WATER: There is none. You’ll have to buy water or bring your own.
