We took our vintage camper here for Thanksgiving. Had a good experience, very nice restrooms for a campground. Plenty of room in the showers. I was happy with it and recommended it to several friends for New Year’s, and we returned for New Year’s as well. We had plans to make it our new permanent spot, as we go several times a year. When I arrived the second time, they had given us a standard site, even though I Had pre-paid for a deluxe site. (Our camper is very vintage so we cannot get very level on gravel sites, we needed a concrete slab) Upon arrival, they gave us a fairly crappy, and uneven gravel slab that was listed standard on the map. They said I had not selected Deluxe when I paid for it, but I clearly had, as was shown on my receipt. The lady at the desk was kind, but she called her manager because she had no power to adjust my site… The manager said they could change it, but I would have to pay the up-charge… I booked my site in October, I had no plans on paying an up charge two months later. I asked the manager over the phone, why she could not just make an exception for a returning customer, especially considering I had my receipt proving my site, she was not kind at all, even though I tried to be respectful and apologized for the inconvenience. It took over an hour to get it sorted out. I was happy with their location, restrooms, and prices… But I felt very mistreated after booking two back-to-back stays - months ahead of time- And having to jump through those hoops to get what I paid for. (Apparently, they did a price change between when I booked and when I got there… and I should not have been responsible for that). The lady at the front desk said They had recently been sold to a corporation instead of being family owned, and she said she was quitting at the end of the year (It was December 28 when we checked in) because they were not so great to work for. So clearly “ Corporate” Running things, is not off to a great start.
Gateway The truth is that with new management the only improvement that was made was the price increase. Aside from that everything remains the same as previous owners. The site was discussed before hand so it was not a matter of space. The excuse that was given was that the electric boxes were not working. But aside from that we were never informed of such change. Supposedly we were given a betted space, but the space was uneven very difficult to level out the trailer. As for the kids park there one that seems fully renovated already but locked with no access and the other one full of dirt where its being renovated. Again none of this is not disclosed when you reserve. Especially since when i called the main reason i wanted the space was to be close to the park so my toddler can play. Again we were not informed of the park nor the space. Very disappointed with the customer service provided.
We stayed in last loop of RV park Lot 73. gave the location a 4 due to proximity to everything. Very peaceful and clean grounds. However 2 issues. Lot 73 sewer hookup sits up hill from the pad. We had to rig up a way to make it work. We have a class B so may only be good for larger rig. We had decided not to use the shower in our van and use the on site showers. We have never been so disappointed. The showers were filthy and I don't mean stained or heavily used. I had taken paper towels with me to place on the floor to step on after the shower. I took the towels and wiped the shower. It was disgusting and wasn't 1 days worth of accumulated dirt and scum Needless to say we ended up using our shower in the van after that.
Bathhouse , game room and laundry room are kept nice and clean . The grounds are kept up nicely and the staff are extra nice . And a huge shout out to Roy , Randy and all of the staff for taking those extra steps toake our stay so enjoyable. Thanks , The Murphy's at Mills Creek lot 50 !!!!!
