I stayed at Gemstone Campground last night, and had such a wonderful experience. I’m a female, and am on a solo trip. I felt comfortable and safe while I stayed at Gemstone. The view is breathtaking and the wildflowers are stunning! Clean portable potties, firewood (with a fee), and potable water available. I definitely want to stay here again!
Beautiful, quiet area and friendly owner. No problem finding it… Wish Google maps was updated to show it’s really there. Great for self-sustained camping or for campers that don’t require electricity. ~30 acres with trails… very dog friendly!
We stopped to camp here on our way to Colorado and it was the perfect retreat after a long day of driving in from Phoenix. It was quiet, peaceful and had spectacular views. The owner came out to greet us and even offered to help us put our tent up as the temps quickly dropped. There are horses on the property that seemed very friendly, though we kept our distance since our dog was afraid of them... but they were beautiful to look at. The bathrooms were the cleanest I've ever seen and we've camped in many places. There is a small playground playground children and each campsite has its own picnic table and fire pit, though we didn't light one because the winds were at tad strong. All in all, we were very pleased and can't wait to visit again. Thank you for your amazing hospitality!
Great little rustic (read: no hookups) campground that is quiet with great views. The sites are HUGE and have fire pits and covered picnic tables. There is a water tank, if needed, and access to firewood, too. Close to the fairgrounds as well as the Abajo Loop, Elk Ridge Road Scenic Backway, and others. Will definitely use this as a stopover on my future trips.
Excellent and secluded campground relatively close to most of the southern Utah wonders. Owner is a great guy and ready to help out at a moments notice! Clean bathrooms, nice trails, and best of all nice and friendly dogs! The night sky is also extremely beautiful. Can't recommend enough.
