We've been at this wonderful campground from May to October. W didn't plan on staying that long, but couldn't have been happier! It's ran by an amazing family, who have been nothing but accommodating. And if you're a fan of racing, the dirt track across the road is a BLAST on Saturday nights! We have throughly enjoyed our time here and will definitely be back next year! Side note, any one who gives this place a bad review is probably not someone I would take recommendations from...
Have to amend my review. In the daylight, it looked like a pleasant enough place. Tough to enjoy, though, when quiet hours were not enforced. Our neighbors partied loudly until after midnight. Even after the races ended.
Genesee County Campgrounds in Calendonia are nice. No mountains, some trees, no lakes, no rivers, no pool. They have a recreation room, and a playground for the kids. The staff is very pleasant. Free morning coffee in the recreation room in the morning. Well kept grounds.
Campground is attached to a racetrack. 10:30 pm and we just measured 85 decibels. That is part of how they “love kids.” The irony is that we called to let them know we were entering late. Was told that’s ok, just come in quietly! “Helpful” person on the phone didn’t mention the race. Neither did website. Stay in Walmart parking lot unless you are into racing.
Nice clean friendly. Big bathrooms with showers. Fire rings, woodsy nature hiking trails. Race track across the street can be a little loud but added a little atmosphere and excitement. Had a nice relaxing time. Gift shop was the best really cute camp themed clothing and the cutest camp chairs they even had some camper parts. Propane regulator that my husband otherwise would have had to special order from camper world or the like. Nice that they were thought enough to stock things like that :)
