Customer Reviews
We recently spent the weekend at Geneva State Park Campground. It happened to be the weekend they had their halloween celebration. The campground is decent. Among its many sites are premium sites that are Lake front. But it lacks the amenities that the other State Park campgrounds have. The second loop notoriously has flooding issues, With that being said, the camp staff and volunteers do an amazing job. The activities for Halloween weekend included a basket raffle, a family movie night, a scavenger hunt, and a campsite decorating contest. The rest of the park includes a bike/hike trail that runs beside Lake Erie, a public beach, a marina, and a lake front lodge.
It was a beautiful stretch of beach. It was clean and people were out walking or playing out there. Nice area to sit and enjoy Lake Erie. It would be nice if dogs were allowed, though no one seemed to mind those that had them, so that was nice. There was a spot outside the bathrooms for people to rinse themselves or their feet after leaving the beach, which was awesome to see. I haven't seen that anywhere before.
We had a great time walking around to all the little shops, especially the candy store. The ferris wheel gave great views of Lake Erie. Make sure you take cash for the different food stands. Some took card but most needed you to get cash out of the ATM (which half of the ones we walked to were out of order).
Return trip for me and my daughter. As pleasant as we remembered and I always appreciate the friendly staff and convenient location to the bike trail and beach. The bathrooms were very clean as well and we had a pleasant stay. The close proximity to the lake is excellent and we could see it from our site (non-electric in the front of the campground).
What a beautiful park! We walked the paved path from the Crabapple picnic area (which has TONS of parking, very clean bathrooms, and several picnic shelters) to the marina, which then leads to the beach. Everything is very well kept and the water is crystal clear. Everyone was friendly — good vibes. The main hub of Geneva on the Lake is just a 3 minute drive for restaurants & lodging.
