Gettysburg was one of the smaller KOAs we've visited. We enjoyed our time in one of the cabins and were very comfortable. The only downside to this location is their pet policies: "Please do not leave them unattended; we will be happy to recommend a good, nearby kennel while you are touring." There was no point in bringing the dogs on a long car ride just for them to be kenneled for random hours while we toured.
Really nice KOA with a pool, general store, games, wifi, electric tent sites, and dogs are welcome. We went Halloween weekend and they do trick-or-treating for the kids. Only issue is some of the sites are too close together for our preference, but would recommend it if in the area.
Great campground! Very shade and peaceful. Nice sized lots. These folks who run this campground are wonderful! Very visible and available to handle any of your needs. We had booked a 5 night stay but due to hurricane Debby we decided to leave 2 days early to try to beat the weather. That’s the chance you take when booking a vacation, the weather is unpredictable. We let them know as we left we were checking out due to the hurricane. To my surprise they refunded one night even though the weather is obviously not in their control. Definitely will be coming back!
We recently stayed at Gettysburg KOA for almost a week and had the absolute best time. This is, by far, one of our favorite KOAs now. The location is very convenient to Historic Gettysburg and close enough to necessary shopping to make quick trips to the store easy. The site we were in was large and level. The staff were very kind and approachable. Every time we had a question, they were quick to respond. Bathrooms and laundry were decent and the little gift shop had some cute items. For me, it was the daily walks around the campground that we took that made things fantastic. What a lovely campground. Also, though they were busier than all get out for the apple festival, the sites are spaced out enough to feel good. Wifi on our phone hotspot worked better than the camp internet and we have verizon and tmobile. Really, the only downside was having to get used to the loud bangs and clangs of the falling walnuts and acorns. First couple times scared the daylights out of me haha. We will be back. Loved it!
Such an amazing campground! Honestly the best staff I ever encountered at any campground. The sites were very clean and level. Andy helped us get our travel trailer parked perfect in our spot. Clean restrooms and showers, pool was great. A wonderful place to camp with family.
Really nice campground. Really nice staff, they're working through some upgrades to the sites which is great to see. Everyone is really nice and hard working, though they seemed a little understaffed. Grounds are clean and nice, new equipment here and there though the main office building could use a refresh. Depending on where you are you might have a long walk to the office or playground. Really convenient place for visiting the battlegrounds. Plus they are far enough off the main road you won't hear any street traffic.
Incredible place to visit! It was well maintained and lush. We really enjoyed our stay and all of the amenities that the KOA location had to offer. We stayed for 7 days and will definitely be back again soon! It was very lush and private compared with other locations. Great for the whole family!
Just left the Gettysburg / Battlefield KOA. Really appreciated the attention of all of the staff and the quality of the hookups for the RV. I was impressed by how well maintained the grounds were. Next time we'll make it a point to stay longer. Also very dog friendly, Duke had a great time too!
This is the best campground near Gettysburg, very clean with a great staff. Clean pet playground, roomy rv sites, beautiful and wooded area with a fantastic nature trail. Visit the Land of Little Horses while you are there, it is only 2 minutes away!
