Solid five star Park, fantastic for kids and adults. Beautiful old Florida ecosystem, visible alligators along walking paths, Spanish moss, scrub oaks, birds native and migratory. Easy parking, clean bathrooms.
Great park for older kids that like to climb. We took our two year old granddaughter here and there was not much she could do besides climb up the stairs and get help coming down the big slide and swinging on the rope swing. But it would have been great for our right year old grandson with all the monkey bars, climbing ropes and big slides.
Great park with boardwalk in Mount Dora area. They even have canoe rentals. Lots of parking and open area across street.
Located not far from the Mount Dora Lighthouse, this medium-sized park has a shelter area with picnic tables, playground facilities with climbing features including one shaped like a pirate ship, a walking trail, public restrooms and even barbecue grills. The playground was getting a pretty good workout for a weekday afternoon. A reasonably sized parking lot where I left the van for a walk around the park. Gilbert Park is named for the person who donated the land, Earl Gilbert.
My family and I went after eating Thanksgiving dinner. We walked around, enjoyed the sunset off the water. Absolutely beautiful! We walked the trails there. Caution, there are alligators, so be alert! They will come right up to the bank and watch. Definitely recommend this park as it also has two great play areas for kids.
