My granddaughter went to horse camp and was very happy she went. The only complaint she had was the food. She said there wasn't enough meat lol. Her opinion only. But I like the camp set up. I get lost sometimes but once you get to know the campus it's pretty easy to get around.
Had loads of fun, lots of walking had to take a few breaks cause of a back issue but was very manageable. The horse team is very knowledgeable and helpful with the younger girls.
Having an awesome week at day camp, got to try out low ropes, archery, "campfire" snack, plenty of hiking, cooking over the fire, caddie skits, and lots of swimming at Lake Barbara.
My 10 yr old Grandaughter went here for 6 days 5 nights camp. She has been to sleep away camp before, many times. This is the 1st time without one of her besties. She said the food was good. However, she cried on the way home because no one sent her any "digital notes". We sent several. The system didn't function as it should. We were never informed till she was picked up and was handed a short memo about it not working. Had we of known, we could have USPS her letters. Other girls got letters. No girls got digital notes. Camp experience was ruined. She spent those days thinking we didn't care about her enough to send messages. Why weren't the parents emailed immediately? And try to call the main office and all I ever got was put on hold. No answer ever. What a poor poor system.Girl Scouts is suppose make girls feel good about themselves, not unloved!
This place gave my daughter a 5 star experience. Bathrooms inside cabins in Morgan B. Horseback riding. A must for your Girl Scout!
The girls loved the camp!! Driving in and out of the camp is almost impossible. Huge pot hole and there are very few signs in the maze of roads within the camp. When I spoke with the lead person to get directions when I first got there, she had no maps to hand out to the parents. SO lost...
