My wife and i stayed for 3 nights while vacationing in the UP to sightsee. The property was very cool with unique structures that were all hand built. the campsites were spacious with full hookups. Jeff is an older gentlemen that showed passion in what he has done with the grounds. The newly developed Red Pine Brewery was a total hit! the beer was fantastic! we will be back! thanks Jeff and Crystal!
Great location to highway/nearby towns and the ORV trail. Beautiful beach across RT 28, we were able to catch sunrise in the morning and lucky enough to see Northern Lights one evening! Site 59 was roomy and perfect for us, we stayed a week with Jeff, would absolutely return.
This is a big campground with space between you and your neighbor and a lot of trees. It used to be very nice. Now it is run down. If you are self contained for the bathroom and showers and don't need amenities, then it is ok to stay here. However,it is expensive for what you are getting.
I will start with the positives. Great location right across the street from a beautiful beach. For the first time we were in an RV park that was truly a nature experience. You did not feel crowded. Staff was friendly and took us to our final location. The property needs some investment. Driving through with our 40' rig we hit a lot of branches. The roadways and rv spots need gravel and a lot of it. The most important issue was the water. If you fill a coffee pot of water from their well it will look like black tea. Bad smell and not good for your plumbing. We had a three stage filter that had the filters replaced a week prior and they did not help much. (They also need to be replaced since being there). I'm not from that area but I can't imagine that water is safe to drink. As I noted earlier the place needs a bit of investment and something to be done about the water.
This place is fantastic, a lot of trees and the beach on superior lake across the street is amazing. We were looking to do yooperlite rock hunting and the owner set up us for success. Not a 5 stars because of the water. We did some laundry and everything that was white came back rusty/beige. I'm suspecting a high level of tannic acid in the water. Knowing it, don't use the water and you will have a wonderful stay.
