We camped here, stored our trailer for a few months and then camped again. Every time I had to talk with the staff, they were pleasant and easy to work with. Three months we had our trailer here, it wasn't messed with and there were no rodents when we got back, so that's good. Sites can be a little tight, but campers are friendly and it is quiet at night. Laundry was a good price and conveniently located at many of the rest rooms. It's a great city camp that isn't right in the city.
Don't waste your time dealing with these rude women in the office. We arrived on Sunday for a 7 day stay and the office was closed. The guy at the gate and Brandon tried to accommodate us but we were not on the arrival list so no one knew which site we were assigned to. We were told we could have the spot reserved for "emergencies" like this. There was no way we would fit or be able to level. We had to find another park. The next day I called and Shanelle was so rude. She told me what spot we were supposed to be in like everyone should have known. I told her I want to know what happened and who screwed up. She said how do I know? You want me to make something up? I don't know what happened. She is absolutely worthless and incompetent. She refused to refund my deposit saying that if Brandon said he could get us in the spot we should have taken it. We'll Brandon was not driving our rig and Brandon was not responsible for damages to it. I told her I wanted to speak to her manager Roxanne who never returned my call. Don't waste your time with these rude b%&^$@#.
We’ve stayed here in 2022 for 3 weeks the ladies in the office were extremely friendly and very nice. We made a reservation with them for the summer of 2023 no problems. We came in July 2023 they have all new staff and those ladies we not very nice especially the older lady she was rude and seems like they made up their own rules. I’ve asked to make a reservation for summer 2024 and she told me we can’t book that far in advanced. So I called them end of May to book for July and she said we have to be in a waiting list and need to fill another app so I asked if they can send us one and she said yes, she never did I called again and Channel I think that’s name she told me and she also said she going to put it in the mail still, we haven’t received any so I called the manager and left a msg never heard from them! They are a bunch of liars! The park itself it’s like a timeshare you have to buy shares to become and owner. The appearance of the park is like a trailer trashed some ppl have stuff like recycle, old beat up truck and trailer around the front so I’m glad we found a better park to go. Don’t waste your money on this trailer trashed park.
We stayed at Glen Ivy RV Park for a week, and used it as our base to visit the surrounding area. This is a mature park with lots of old growth trees and plenty of shade. Most of the RVs in this park are either permanent or at least long term. You can purchase shares in the park which enable you to stay a certain number of days for free. Daily rates for intinerants like us are very reasonable and the park does participate in Passport America. There are two ways to enter the park, both from Temescal Canyon Rd. Our RV GPS took us in Trilogy Parkway to Warm Springs Road to Glen Ivy Road. We were in a class A towing a car and it was no problem. The other way in is to take Glen Ivy Road right off of Temescal Canyon Road. There is a good sized hump on Glen Ivy Road if you go this way. I'm not sure our class A would have made it over the hump. The asphalt road had a great many scars and gouges, presumably from hitches that bottomed out. The park has good security. In bound there is a guard house and gate that is manned 24/7. You are issued a pass to show to the guard to be admitted. The office has limited hours and is not open on weekends. The website warns you to have cash available if you check in on weekends or after the office closes. I was told that the park has security after 10 PM but we never saw it. If there is a problem after hours, there didn't appear to be anyone available to handle it as the guard can not leave the guard house. There is no camp store but there are a number of rest room/laundry buildings scattered around the park. The park is well maintained and we saw workers every day doing general cleanup and other maintenance. All sites are 30 amp which was no problem for our class A. Sites are gravel and we did have to crib the front end of our rig to get it level. With one exception, this is a very quiet and peaceful park. On the day we arrived, there was very loud music coming from several streets away from our site. It went on for some time. That happened again at least two more times while we were actually in the RV. The music was so loud that even inside the RV with the windows closed and one of the AC unit fans running, you could still hear it. My wife was doing laundry at the time and she said the music was so loud it drowned out the sound of the washer and dryer. I inquired about this at the office and at the guard shack and got pretty much a blank stare. The office said if it wasn't quiet hours it was OK? My reply was that if you lived in an apartment, or condo, and this loud music was present, you would want something done about it. I cannot imagine what it must have been like to have an adjacent site when the music was playing. I asked one of the permanent residents about it and their reply was "oh, that SOB!" So my review is Glen Ivy is a very nice and affordable park and with the exception of the loud music which the park seems to simply ignore, it's a nice place to stay.
We use this place frequently to arrive with our motorhome. The staff is friendly, the place is good and most people live full time. It needs some care and improvements but in general it is recommended. The new directors of the association have made some changes that do not greatly benefit temporary RVs, such as wanting to charge for receiving packages and letters or reducing the length of stay with Passport America!
