Lovely lake and campground. We stayed 5 days in early October with perfect weather and fall foliage. The camp host, Sean, was friendly and helpful. 5 stars all around. Can't wait to return soon.
We just got home from a five day camping trip to Gold Lake. It was great! While the site was your typical campsite, the new camp host, Dakota, was super helpful and friendly and the lake was phenomenal! We loved kayaking there and hiking around. Most importantly, our seven month old grandson loved his first camping trip at Gold Lake! Take lots of water with you since there is none available, as well as lots of bug spray. The mosquitoes get thick in the early morning and at dusk.
Beautiful lakeside RV spots. The biggest hit appeared to be day use people who would bring boats up. With a boat launch and a large lake, there weren’t too many people and nice enough to accommodate small families. Toilets were available and the lake was crystal clear.
Dry camping but beautiful place to spend your day or week. We unfortunately were there during a random cold front and it actually snowed on us in June! The weather turned sunny two days later however. Gorgeous lake front spots, outhouses are kept quite clean, no pottable water but if you go two campgrounds down the road you’ll find some.
Great campsites! Many choices right by the lake. Beautiful area and extremely peaceful in the mornings. They have ports-potties that are surprisingly clean also. Such a fantastic experience, we will be going back!
