We had a great time camping here! The host Kevin was super helpful and nice. The bathrooms were always kept very clean too. We didn’t see any animals on the campground. We arrived in the afternoon on a Friday and lots of spots available. The road leading up to it had a ton of potholes, so just drive slow! It was also very relaxing being near the creek.
Awesome remote campground! The road up was gravel but had very few potholes. Several of the sites were pretty close together with little privacy, but most were spaced out with trees between. The creek was gorgeous. It was convenient to get to multiple trailheads and Leadville easily. There’s a lot of dispersed spots along the road too.
We are maintenance for White river NF this year and we went to paint the bathroom today. This is very well kept campground and one bathroom here is very clean. just 9miles of dirt road off highway24!
Have been camping in and around Leadville CO since 1967. The picture uploaded today was from Gold Park Campground in July 1982 the year of my marriage. Such wonderful memories. No digital camera back then so it is a film photo. I love camping in this camper with my parents and two siblings all trying to stay warm at night, hiking and fishing during the day along with riding horses up to the top of the mountains. So much fun!! Those memories will be with me forever❤️
Quite little campground with the Stream close by, Very pricey for what you get. Fire pit had not been cleaned in what looked like a year. Bathrooms were very well kept, No camp host on site and no firewood for sale as a result. A few Humming Birds flying around, The stream appeared to be way over fished as I did not see a single fish.
