Customer Reviews
Clean campground and site #50 was level. Sewer hookup is threaded (not cross threaded) and water pressure was roughly 55 p.s.i. with 3050110 outlets. The restrooms were clean and the gravel paths throughout the park smooth. The ladies in the store were friendly, courteous and engaging. The store/office is not a Walmart so keep the expectations to what you’d find at an average campsite mercantile. There’s not much for shade and the trash receptacles are 33 gallon size cans, no dumpsters visible. There’s an RV dump island with flush for $10 a visit if you’re camping nearby and don’t want hookups. The standard rate for full service is roughly $38 per night. Although this location falls under the Bureau of Reclamation, the Interagency Annual Pass (America the Beautiful pass) is not honored here. We comfortably fit a 40’ Class A with toad and nothing was tight, leaning or concerning with the road in or around the park. I’d give it 5 stars but my fire pit wasn’t cleaned from the previous guest. Not a big fan lighting whatever’s in a pit that I have no clue off. Be warned, if you inspect your site for fit and function prior to checking in, you’ll get a slight browbeating. Not a big deal but the site host didn’t seem to understand folks pulling toads often want to verify they can navigate/fit rather than blindly nodding everything’s good sight unseen.
This is a very well executed campground. Very easy to drive through and park in my spot. Nice landscaping, facilities and walking paths. Free water fill for campers and a couple of nice ladies at the well stocked store. Great location on the lake, wildlife abound and we even had an osprey nest right near our site. This was my first trip as a travel trailer camper and I would most definitely recommend Goose bay to anyone looking for a nice campground.
Ok campground but no shade or landscaping to speak of. We did have a great site with a lake view. Showers take quarters but are clean. The road on the way in is a terrible gravel road that will rattle your whole life apart. Good cell signal with Verizon. I probably wouldn’t stay again but it was good for what we needed.
We have stayed at this campground for 5 years in a row. Always have had a boat slip for security but not this year. The rude lady in the office says she isn’t gonna keep opening the gates for people. Instead have people fishing all around your boat that don’t have a boat slip. No garbage disposals and the showers hadn’t been cleaned all weekend. We have always enjoyed our time here but won’t be back .
BOAT OWNERS CAUTION!!! Frequently we have stayed at goose Bay Marina because of the quality of the boat slips they have. However due to thefts that have occurred, they now have implemented a security system that is unbelievably inadequate. Based on use of a "special" APP the security system is supposed to let you in and out of the boat slips using your phone. However the APP is very difficult to set up, did not reliably open the security gate, and apparently has not worked for many other customers there as well. Based on our experience we will not go back to Goose Bay, unless a better and simpler method is used for access to the boat slips.
