Gopher Valley Campground Introduce

🏞️ **Introduction / Overview**

For Oklahoma residents and travelers heading to the scenic northeastern corner of the state, **Gopher Valley Campground** provides a highly functional and well-regarded base camp for exploring the vast recreational waters of **Grand Lake O' the Cherokees**. As one of several campground sections within the **Twin Bridges Area at Grand Lake State Park**, Gopher Valley is known for its **clean facilities** and generally pleasant setup, making it a reliable choice for both RV and tent campers.

Local Oklahoma campers frequently describe the park as a "nice clean and quiet area for camping," a testament to the State Park's dedication to maintenance. Its setting near the confluence of the Neosho and Spring Rivers feeds into Grand Lake, positioning it perfectly for **excellent fishing**, particularly for trophy-sized bass and catfish. While it provides fantastic amenities—including clean, adjustable hot showers—travelers should note its proximity to a nearby road. This location provides convenient access but can occasionally introduce noise, a factor important for those seeking absolute silence, especially tent campers.

I stayed mid October so it was almost deserted.... very clean, nice set up. Shower was both hot ABD adjustable (not always a Thing). My only reason for 4 stars was the proximity to a road which has a LOT of truck and muscle car fools driving making a racket. It's not a car meet but when you get woken up several times by some idiot it gets annoying. This is nothing the campsite can do anything about but worth noting that if you are in a tent this isn't a 'peaceful' campsite!
