There’s so much to say about this place. First off the grounds and all the different rooms here are adorable. My dream is to have all my friends stay here together and rent them all out. The dog, golden retriever Honey was one of the best behaved and sweetest creatures I’ve ever encountered. My stay was due to some really dire circumstances and it’s like she knew I needed a friend. On top of that both Wendy and Scott are two of the most amazing people and gracious hosts. They went above and beyond to make me comfortable and accommodate me. They helped find me a ride where I needed to go. I will never forget these people for the kindness they showed me in a dark time. Thank you so much!!! Cya soon
Wonderful place to stay. I was hiking the AT when Hurricane Helene hit this area, forcing me off trail. The folks here were the best refuge in a storm I could wish to find. My little cabin has everything and the host family was welcoming and accommodating, even in a difficult situation. Especially great mix of privacy and social time.
This is our go-to place when anywhere near this area! Wendi and Scott have thought of everything! All we have to do is throw some clothes in a bag, food in a cooler and travel! 2 1/2 hours from metro ATL. From tent camping to buses and tiny homes and even tent decks! This place has it all! The best part is how welcoming and friendly Wendi and Scott are! We loved spending time at the lodge and having our meals up there. They told us about a local swim hole and it was fantastic! Honey, the resident dog watcher, keeps everything and everyone in line and you can entice her with a piece of bacon for sure! Bathhouses were the most clean and functional I’ve ever seen! They have all the supplies you need - trowels, soap, body wash. Go rafting with Fast Rivers and stop for ice cream at Sara’s sweet spot too! We will definitely be back soon!
We chose this option while car camping. The other rooms look amazing and are out of the ordinary. We stayed at campsite 2. It’s the most secluded and had a small stream running near it which was incredibly peaceful to listen to at night. Not really big enough to do more than get your feet wet, but relaxing nonetheless. It was nice and shaded all day. We stayed in the middle of July and almost missed our rafting trip at 11 am due to being able to sleep in. There is a nice community pavilion equipped with picnic tables and grills that you can use. The community bathrooms and showers were well maintained and clean. The lodge is open 24/7 there and is equipped with all sorts of games and even a guitar and ukulele. While the place is absolutely gorgeous and the facilities are great, the BEST part was that it’s ran by a warm welcoming family that prioritizes guest comfort and genuine southern charm while giving you their cell phone number. In the lodge, there is 24 hr access to general store type items including food which I think is a big deal since lots of other stores in the area close down at night possibly leaving you hungry. We had AT&T and service was limited. They did have WiFi, but I never connected. A great place to stay and people that make you glad you chose to spend your money there.
Wonderful place to stay. Super clean bathrooms, showers, linens, and camp grounds. Camp Hosts were kind, informative, and made us feel very welcome. We will stay again for sure!
