Gorgeous little campground with an even more beautiful river flowing through. The fish were biting but challenging to hook. I would definitely come back and visit this area again.

Camping area is small and quaint. It has a few fire rings and tables that sit beside a small creek. It's shaded nicely and has a restroom. There's a lot of nearby hiking and woodsy roads to explore. Across the dirt road is a bridge with a runout of the same creek, and if you follow that you'll come to another bridge, follow the dirt road through the open gate. That opens to a gorge that flows the Susanville River (see pics). Keep bear spray with you; I've seen 3 now in just over a month. 🐻

This is a free campground located in Lassen National Forest — Eagle Lake Ranger District. 5 campsites located along the Susan river. Piped water. Fire rings and picnic tables. No garbage service (pack it in, pack it out). Restroom is open May 15 - Oct 31. The campground sits at 5200’ of elevation and will likely not be accessible during winter months. Each site was large. The campground is accessed via a dirt road. This campground is lovely but I was extremely disappointed to see that another group was ignoring the burn ban and then left trash all over their site. Please LEAVE NO TRACE. Please PREVENT WILDFIRES.

Great free campground. Potable water, fire pits, picnic benches and a beautiful creek running through. Great place to camp. They do have one toilet but it's a trek from most of the camp sites.
