We reserved the site on 01/01 and stayed there late june, when we got there it was occupied by some locals who stays there often, luckily they were nice enough to move out of our spot, as they said they were hoping nobody will show up. The place is beautiful and we would definitely go back but it’s so hard to get reservations. I would say this campground needs some ranger supervision as the ppl next to us were letting their dog run around free and they were more ppl than the 8 allowed per site.
A tranquil place to park your r.v. or pitch a tent and fish too. I believe there were 5 camping spots all with river front access and a boat launch with plenty of parking and yes, an outhouse. First come first serve. However, if you're listening, hear this: from this access, there's miles of river with many peninsulas and some islands with posted rustic camping markers and fire rings. This is a place where people don't litter. This is a place for nice people that i may regret sharing; please...
Great place to camp Enjoy the things God created and be kind. Looking forward to camp this year lots of fun with friends. What more could you want ? Another great. camp trip to government landing. Great time. New reservations helps the fighting over sites. Limits. the ability to long term camp a bit. Many people want more than the weekend or 3 days. A lot of work to set up camp for a short time. Good to see kids and 👪 enjoying. Very quiet and enjoyable this year.
Very rustic. Right on the river. The spots are all pretty nice. There is a bathroom there. There is no potable water that I seen even though it says there is on the site. Might have been a hike to get it, though. A few of the sites you have to park up above and carry your stuff down a trail, so be aware of that. They all have fire rings, tables, and hook posts. There is an island across from the sites on the right that you can camp on if you have transportation across the river. Boat, Canoe, kayak, paddleboard, etc.
We love to camp here but the campsite (26) has a yellow jacket nest and they swarmed our family Everytime we got out food or drinks. Flagged down the DNR boat to let them know but they didn't seem to care much.
