Grandview Bend Campground is a hidden gem. It is an RV community (you buy your site) with temporary RV sites (45) for short-term stays. After you drive down the long driveway (Plantation Way), you will see the temporary sites directly on your left. They are in a nice tree-lined all-grass area across from the pool/playground. The sites back up to an Amish-owned field, and we watched them harvest their pumpkin patches with horse-drawn trailers. They would let their horses and cows out to graze, and they would eat right behind our RV. We stayed in October, and only a handful of other RVs were on the temp sites. It was tranquil and peaceful. They provide a fire pit ring at each site and have self-service wood to purchase (found at the end of temporary sites). All sites are back in, partial hookup (water and electric). They do have a dump station. Some of the lower-numbered sites are on the shorter side. This campground is 15 minutes from many stores and restaurants in Sturgis, MI. One evening, we ordered pizza for delivery and discovered Howe Restaurant at 5389 IN-9, Howe, IN. Their phone number is 260-562-3132. If their food is as good as their pizza, we should have visited in person, as it's only 5 minutes away. Everyone was friendly, and many people drove around in their golf carts. The pool was closed, but the bath and shower area in the back of the pool building were still open. The bath/shower rooms were big and kept clean. It's hard to comment on how busy this campground gets during the summer or holidays, but it could become very crowded. I recommend staying here, and we will stay here again. We camped at Grandview Bend Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
Peaceful and beautiful, I would def return there's a beautiful view in am and pm, The caretaker of the campground is a very nice lady and pet friendly🙂
We Highly recommend this campground here in Howe Indiana the people hear are super friendly and accommodating we will be back here in the future.
Nice park with mostly permanent sites. They are very reasonably priced and give a veterans discount. Sites are electric (50 & 30 amp) with water and can accommodate the larger rig. Weekender/ overnight sites back up to a fenced off field and most have large shade trees to the back (ie easy to back into the lot). Nice lots that are grass covered and have nice picnic table and several also have a taller work table provided. Park has a nice swimming pool area, putt putt golf, great playground, tennis court and basketball court. Restrooms are really clean. Office staff was very nice and helpful. Only change I would suggest is you need a larger "office" sign and directions for the newbies entering the park for the first time. We are enjoying our stay and will definitely be coming back.
My parents were one of the first to purchase a lot back in the mid 70s. It's been awhile but I believe our lot number was 22 or 23. We had an end lot but I believe there was 1 more between us and the boat ramp to the river at the time. We were right across from the bath house and the pavilion. I love the river and it was great fishing until they took the railroad trestle down just up river. Then for some reason the fish stopped biting for the most part. It started dying down and fewer people were coming up during the summer. Someted we were the only ones there in the entire place. It looks like it has grown quite a bit. My parents passed and we sold the lot in the late 80s or early 90s not sure when. It is a nice place and used to be hopping with music and parties ect. It's worth checking out.
Awesome host and very clean facilities. Nice place to walk around and enjoy yourself. Peaceful and very recharging. Veterans definitely cannot go wrong for the price. Definitely would recommend. They have a pool and they have a snack bar and they have putt putt and volleyball in the sand pit and a huge playground. Very well-kept.
