I loved staying at Kings Canyon--Grant Grove Cabins. It's like camping, but in a cabin. The windows are large and let lots of sunshine in during the day. I closed them at night, because it was chilly in the fall. There was plenty of forest sounds and fresh pine scent--which I loved. The beds were comfortable, too. My cabin also had electricity--which I am immensely grateful for!
We were in a glamping cabin - a step up from real camping. The cabin was MUCH more comfortable than I expected. No heat but the beds were quite comfortable and there was enough blanket to keep warm. The lodge is a great place to relax and the restaurant was surprisingly good.
Good central location for activities in Kings Canyon and even Sequoia. We stayed in Cabin #9, and my parents stayed in a tent cabin and then a cabin with bath. All the accommodations were so much better than Curry Village in Yosemite. Accommodations were reasonably clean. They had a check out service to help guests move things from their rooms to cars (it's a bit hilly, so my parents really appreciated the help. They offer it for check in sometimes, too, but we got there too late to use it when we checked in, which is understandable). I would definitely stay here again. The restaurant nearby has tasty food, and even options for vegans! There's a pretty meadow that can be viewed from the balconies of most of the cabins (probably not from the tent cabins, though).
The tent cabin was perfect for me, the linens and towels were new and clean. I could always find a seat and an outlet in the lodge lobby when I wanted to use WiFi and get a charge. The restaurant had a good menu and efficient service. The shared bathroom/shower facilities could use a refresh.
Grants Grove Cabins offered a serene and picturesque retreat amidst nature's beauty. Nestled in a tranquil setting, the cabins provided a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Surrounded by towering trees and peaceful surroundings, the location was truly idyllic for relaxation. However, our stay was marred by an issue with the shower, which unfortunately did not function properly throughout our visit. Despite this setback, the cabin itself was cozy and well-maintained, offering a comfortable stay overall. Overall, Grants Grove Cabins provided a stunning environment for a quiet getaway, though improvements to the shower facilities would enhance the experience further.
