I stayed here back in October 2023. I arrived to the cliff dwelling area a little late the first day and set up camp here. It was awesome. I found a nice spot at the end, away from most people and their barking dogs . . That was the only minor drawback, but at least they were away from me.
We love this place family time
So close to the river, it was not the cleanest part of it but still fresh water and wide camping spaces. Theres a store campbells post very close to it has homemade ice cream that is a must. You will have a great time over there.
Located near the Gila cliff dwellings, this is a great spot to get away, enjoy the local wildlife, wild camp, and wade in the crystal clear waters of the Gila river. To our surprise, the campgrounds were relatively empty and we found the perfect camp spot right on the river. Waters are relatively calm and quiet enough in many spots, making it safe for kids or just lounging around
Campgrounds and restrooms are almost always extremely clean. I love that the campgrounds are flat and allow camper trailers and many tents. The water is always fresh and many times you can find yerba (mint) growing there.
