Great well maintained trail. It is nothing but up hill so be prepared. The fire lookout at the top would have a commanding view unfortunately while I was the there the area was very smoky.

The Trail camp itself is on a tree'd ridge above a meadow. There is only a couple slightly flat sites for small tents. Not my favorite camp site. The view from the peak is amazing, and about a half mile hike away. It was too windy for me to camp at the peak, but there is flat hard packed ground.

This is a really cool camp spot. Located below the grasshopper fire lookout. Amazing views in what feels like a wild environs. The facilities provided are minimal (which is what I would expect and want for this type of place). There is a pit toilet, food locker, and trash receptacle. There's also a makeshift fire ring made of rocks...check with local rangers about fires. Generally, not allowed even with a permit. The only real negative to mention is just how strong and constant the winds are here. Be prepared to be blown away at this s'weet camp spot in a beautiful location!
