Awesome campground. All the tent sites seem to be really good. We stayed in site 14 which is very close to bathrooms and was convenient for that reason, but also you can catch a whiff here and there, didn’t bother us much tho. The pond was great. There’s a small roped off swimming area. Kayaking/canoeing allowed with a small boat launch. Quick ride (10-15 mins) into town to resupply at the gas station/market on rt 138. There’s a dunkin as well for a quick pick me up. Fun in the sun and rain. Will absolutely be returning. Very clean. DEEP staff and rangers do their rounds every once in a while. There is no access to drinking water, only non potable water. No showers. Firewood available off site. Would highly recommend.
Great camping location with spacious campsites (we fit a 4-person tent, a 3-person tent, and a small 2-person tent and 2 mid-size cars easily). We had site 6 which was up a driveway and a nice quiet site with a picnic table and a stone fire pit. There is a 6 person and 2 car limit. To protect the trees, you can’t hang anything from them, so hammocking and tarp installation weren’t possible. The pond is close by and the water is beautiful and clean. There is just a small designated swimming area that is a perfect depth. There’s no running water on site but more than enough well-maintained composting toilets. To check in, the ranger came by and got our names and license plates. We didn’t see a camp store or office so bringing your own firewood is helpful (we got some from a friendly neighbor!) Overall, I recommend this as a pet-friendly camping site with access to nice swimming!
The natural beauty of this location can't be denied. The pond, which is more like a lake, is clear and pristine. Boating, hiking, camping, and swimming are all available. They have composting toilets, but no potable water or showers. This is primitive camping. The downside is there are no rangers present. It's supposed to be no alcohol, quiet time at 10pm, etc. It's more like Lord of the Flies. Music, fireworks, motorcycles, and general shouting lasted until 1am Friday. I know people want to have fun, but if you are assuming a non alcoholic campground means quiet (or that they don't allow alcohol) your probably going to be disappointed. Feces and toilet paper around the campsite were disconcerting as well. They do allow pets, but my dog hasn't figured out how to wipe his butt yet, so.... I would come back, but not during prime camping season. We stayed in site 3.
Beautiful spot. Very peaceful and quiet. If you’re going camping make sure to bring your own water and firewood and fire camp grill if you’re cooking on the fire. Other then that it’s a unique spot!!
I have been going to this campground all my life and always have had an amazing experience. Highly recommend!!
