I grew up swimming at this park Beach! I met my future husband here as did my mom and Dad!! The hike around the two lakes is wonderful. Have camped here-wonderful place!!!! MANY fond memories of this wonderful park!!!!
It was absolutely beautiful, my daughter and I walked it and promise to come back and camp here. What a gorgeous place! The beach was large, kayaks and boats for rental. Trails and plenty of picnic areas. A great playground too! Highly recommend.
Absolutely beautiful!! Nice trails. Comparable prices of products in the park. Helpful employees!! Clean bathrooms
Took a camping trip there around late September, and the weather was gorgeous, and the park had so much to offer and do! We did tent camping in the rolling hills camp ground, and there was plenty of space in our little area, but you are pretty close to other people than other campsites. They do have showers, bathrooms, and a dishwashing station. A huge plus was that the main check-in location was open from 8am-8pm with $3 ice and $5 bundle of wood. The glass bottom kayak on Green Lake: At the lake, they do rent clear bottom, single/double kayak, and a big row boat for large groups. Do be warned that the crystal (clear bottom) kayak aren't actually very clear and are scratched up pretty well. They also are not the most comfortable option because the seat moves around a lot, and there is very little room to place your feet in a comfortable position. You also sit much lower than a normal one. Their is also no rudder on the crystal kayak so you will end up doing a spin if you don't constantly correct your position. Just imagine a giant plastic bin with paddles. Whatever you use on the lake, it's definitely worth the time and effort to see how amazing the water is and see the color and how clear it is.
I love to walk here! Easy and accessible trails begin just off of the parking lot, you can walk around Green Lake itself or take a turn here and there to visit Round Lake or the Old Growth Forest Trail. I always see people running with their dogs, kayaking, and even cross country skiing in the winter! Bikers too, of course. There are many opportunities for a photo op or to rest on one of several benches. Can be quite busy on the weekends and during holidays! Spacious clean bathrooms are available next to the parking lot, while porta-potty type bathrooms are available at certain points along the trail around Green Lake.
