Green Mountain campsite located in Pike National Forest outside of Bailey Colorado is a great small Nook campsite area with only six sites five on the left side of the stream one on the right side of the Stream you hear countless birds chirping throughout the day the area is shaded and tends to be very quiet with the occasional deer cutting through grazing during the Sunset hours a great place for a couple or a few friends trying to escape the city Jeff and Diane who are the hosts for this campsite are kind and considerate and each day stop by to make sure you have your needed supplies such as water to extinguish the fires and any information you are asking for great job to our hosts thank you for allowing me to have such a pleasant stay
A little hideaway campground that you have to walk across the river to get to!
Drive around almost two hours looking for this “creek” just to realize that the ditch I’m driving past is the “creek” smh
This CG, Green Mountain, was not open when we visited on Wed July 8th. The USFS website didn't indicate a closure, and still doesn't. There was a gate across the entrance to the CG, with a large CLOSED sign across it. We were momentarily disappointed, however, there are many dispersed camping sites along FS Road 550, and we were able to get an awesome sight, for free. I only gave one star for this review because Green Mountain wasn' open.
This place is gross, the bathroom wasn't cleaned at all the weekend we were there nor was it clean before we got there, way too many people, dog poop and trash everywhere, used to love this place but unfortunately too many people found it and trashed it like usual, and the fees are way too high used to be half that with the same exact amenities
