Greensboro KOA Journey, located at 1896 Trox Rd, Greensboro, NC 27406, provides camping and RV accommodations within the well-known KOA network. Operating within the Campgrounds & RV Parks category, it caters to travelers seeking a convenient and comfortable place to stay while exploring the Greensboro area. Contact can be made via phone at (336) 274-4143 or +1 336-274-4143.

According to customer reviews, Greensboro KOA Journey offers "simple and clean" facilities, making it a suitable option for those needing a place to hook up their camper and rest. The showers and bathrooms are generally reported to be clean, and a laundry room is available. The staff is described as "pleasant" by some reviewers. The campground's proximity to local attractions and activities in Greensboro is also a positive aspect.

However, some potential drawbacks were also noted in reviews. The campground's proximity to the highway results in noise from trucks, which can be disruptive at night. Additionally, there were reports of issues with after-hours check-in, locked facilities, and difficulties in contacting management. One review detailed issues with a late arrival, and the lack of provided information, that resulted in being unable to use facilities. This review also mentioned a staff member that was not helpful. Therefore, it is important to be aware of these potential issues when considering a stay.

In summary, Greensboro KOA Journey offers a convenient location with clean facilities and access to local attractions. However, potential guests should be mindful of the highway noise and possible check in issues, and read multiple reviews before making a reservation.

Simple and clean. KOA is a great place if you just need somewhere to hook up your camper and get some rest. The showers and bathrooms were clean. The laundry room was nice but we didn't use it. The staff was pleasant and we enjoyed our stay overall. There are lots of local attractions and activities in Greensboro that are closeby. Only negative was being so close to the highway, the trucks are loud at night.

We had a reservation came in after hours and there was no check in info left on night registration. Bathrooms and laundry were locked and with no paperwork we could not use them. We advised the koa at the time we reserved that we had a camper van. Needless to say we could not use the bathroom. We called the manager’s number listed they didn’t return our call which would have solved the problem. Read reviews before reserving here. We did see a person with a yellow shirt who did finally give us the code but was not nice and said trainee did.

First of all, we were greeted in a friendly and courteous manner and shown to our seats. Compared to the KOAs we have visited so far, it falls short and that is not only due to the noisy location, which we already knew about in advance. On the one hand, it is due to the limited opening hours, and on the other hand, there is a lack of infrastructure such as a coin changer in the washroom and no fire pits on our $80 site. In terms of value for money, this site is far too expensive.

We stayed here for an overnight stop in August 2024. The park is okay. It is overpriced for what it is, but it's acceptable for an overnight stay. One nice touch is they give out a goody bag of treats upon arrival, which was appreciated. When we arrived, the pool was not working, but we received no notification in advance that it was not functional. The park is borderline not big rig friendly, since there are several tight turns within the park on pavement, which is not good for your axles. They should be better rounded out for modern big rigs. There is a nice (small) dog park, and a playground. There appears to be a trail into the woods as well.

Campground runs right alongside highway, no amenities and looked very drab. Would only recommend for like work crews out of town or overnight stop only.

Really enjoyed our stay. Even from the first phone call to find out about the different sites available, the gentleman was super friendly and even gave us some information where to find local places to visit. We are so glad he did, we ended up spending an afternoon at the Greensboro Science Center and the kids had an awesome time exploring! When we arrived after hours it was very easy to grab our packet that was waiting for us and continue on to our site. Our check in envelope had cute little stickers on it and one said Happy Camper, such a sweet welcome. Little things like that do not go unnoticed and make you feel welcomed. Our site was fine with a picnic table and fire pit and exactly what we needed after a long drive. The KOA was also very clean and had a cute dog park for our fur baby to run and play. We felt very safe and had three great nights of sleep. All in all, a great stay, safe, slept great, clean area, felt welcomed and you really can’t put a price on that!

Staff was very nice. Our problem was the space for the trailer was very close on both sides. The sewer was at the side of our picnic table. The other side was no better. When they were at their table you could smell what they were smoking, couldn't open our windows. I don't like complaining but for a nights stay price not worth it

It was awesome but very close to the highway so if the sounds of trucks and cars swishing by bothers you you may not wanna be here, I was raised in Boston lots of traffic and rescue vehicles in the background so it didn’t bother me much. The bathrooms were very clean and management was really nice, lots of kids playing and nice dog park

Despite the bad reviews that was left at this location we still gave people the benefit of the doubt and come. We’ve been traveling with two toddlers and needed To stop somewhere for the night. I WISH we would’ve just kept going!!! As soon as we arrived there was a lady who seems to be a full time camper working there (?) who was so unbelievably rude to my husband. She had told us that we couldn’t check in until 2pm unless we wanted to pay a fee of 35$. And i absolutely understand having policy’s, but at this time, the place was a ghost town. There was quite literally no one there, outside & numerous spots open. So we left and got some ice cream to kill some time… did you know about 10 minutes from this KOA in Greensboro is an absolutely TERRIBLE area??? Cause we didn’t!!!! We seen a man overdosing on the side of the road. So we immediately came back because that is no environment for children to see. We were waiting in the parking lot of the KOA and moved out of the way when needed for other campers arriving (poor them, honestly) and she come outside and told us that we were intentionally “aggravating” her because we weren’t paying to check in early. Her behavior and seems even with other campers before us is absolutely disgusting & unacceptable. Also when looking into this campground first thing that pops up is them having a pool, POOL IS NOT OPEN. when asked about it the only thing she had to say “well most campgrounds don’t even have pools” ok, great, seems you don’t either then. If you don’t like the job, find a new one!!! Guess every YELP review about her behavior was absolutely true! I would’ve loved to have sent this email (and I will be leaving a review for others) last night, but seems that when someone else left a review about her poor attitude and behavior that she had kicked them out 20 minutes after at 9pm. What kind of person does that? A small person, who is miserable and enjoys bringing misery to others, that’s who. Sites are small, playground is just a swing set & you could hear the interstate alllllll night long. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!

This Koa has very un-level lots and is way over priced. The manager Wendy is very unprofessional. There are no amenities. The freeway noise is extremely loud and we had to buy our own tools to maintain the lot. We ordered a mattress and the manager turned the driver away saying a box truck is too loud yet there were workers there cutting down tree branches and grinding them.
