This campground is open again. Each site has a water spigot & the vault toilets look new. Very nice... except for the mosquitoes! It's pretty close to the road, but at least it's not very busy. $25/night First come, first served.
Peaceful, nice scenery around, lake Almanor 10 miles away and plenty of water to use.we have good time camping.
Campground is closed and appears to have been decommissioned several years ago, most tables and fire rings removed. OK for dry camping and Wolf Creek is very scenic.
One of the few places that didn't burn to the ground during the Dixie fire. It's still beautiful and still supplies our water here in greenvill
There was no campground host, so there was no one there to usurp the "freedom" of the large number of campers there. Despite signs indicating no fires, and the Dixie fire raging 10 miles away, there were at least 5 campfires burning through the night, with flames as high as 5 feet. There was a loud generator that also ran the whole night. There were several campsites with 3-4 vehicles and 10-20 people hoopin' and hollerin' until dawn, and beyond. I called the "customer service" number shown on the bulletin board, but the outgoing message said to leave a message, but the mailbox was full. There was often a wait to use the outhouses, but some of the bathrooms were closed due to "health reasons." We suspected the "reason" was that the campground managers didn't want to clean all of the bathrooms.
