I would give 5 stars but not cuz of lacking shower room. Plus, they could have provide bear proof containers around. Watch out for bears cuz I saw it and visited on my tent area during my 1st night. Store all your stuff back in the car cuz Bear is really around. Lake was nice and very close by to my unit. Restroom has lots of toilet paper, it’s a plus! Over all the nice place to camp!

Nice quiet little campground, friendly host as well. Most campsites are very big with plenty of room to spread out. There are plenty of double sites as well so bring the family. Just a shortwalk to Lake Davis. We brought our dog and he had a blast! We got a little snow during the first night of three. We saw wildlife including some deer, an eagle, and even a bear when going down the road. We had a great time and highly recommend this campground. We will be returning in the near future.

This is one of our favorite campgrounds. You get a lot of space, the scenery is gorgeous, and every year we see deer, bears, and the fishing is plentiful.

The campground is extremely beautiful! It is nothing but nature, and it's pretty close to Lake Davis and the town of Portola. There are OHV trails around and is close to a lookout spot called Smiths Peak that is absolutely stunning! The reason I give it three stars is for various reasons, which include: 1. No bear lockers! Two bears came into the campground while we were there. They should provide bear lockers for their campers if they know that bears frequent the area! 2. They did not keep up with the bathrooms at all! The womens restroom even ran out toilet paper, and they did not replace it until someone finally said something. The mens restroom's urinal was out of order, and they did not get fixed at all. Mind you, we were there for about a week. 3. The trash bin had gotten full. Instead of ordering a pick up or taking care of the issue themselves, they made the campers take their trash home with them. What campground doesn't prepare properly for their campers and what campground makes their campers take the trash home?!?! 4. The campground is extremely dusty. Now I understand that's out of their control to a certain extent, but that is a downside regardless. 5. The mosquitoes are ridiculously overwhelming there! Again, I understand that's out of their control to a certain extent, but again, it is still a downside. Overall, it is a good campsite. However, I am giving it a three-star rating due to the issues that are within their control and could be easily fixed, but they choose to neglect.
