Wonderful spot! Beautiful trees! Nice wooded sites! Spaced out. Nice potties. Didn’t get s chance to use the showers.
The hiking trails, electric hookup, and ponds are great but the view at the top of trail 16 SHOULD NOT BE MISSED! Only a .35 mile hike but there about a 400 foot rise in elevation between the base trail head and the endpoint view but you can see all the way from the Sangre De Christos in the south to the backside of Vail in the north...all of the collegiate range and "massive wilderness" in between. Go on a moonless night and bring warm clothes and comfy reclining camp chairs so you can stare at the sky first least an hour! Recreation at its finest! Oh and clean bathroom with nightlights!
It was.very cold when we went. The views are.great. the facilities are.just as useful.
Love it here
