Over the last 3 years I have been to and hosted many events at the gryphons nest. This space has always been incredibly inclusive and welcoming to everyone I’ve attended the space with, people of all gender, sexuality, race and religion. I rented the space with my family for a weekend. The rooms are filled with roaches. The pool wasn't clean and worst of all, I woke up with the owner looking through the window watching me and my family sleeping! We left a day earlier than we reserved. Aside from that. The location is beautiful.
The owner has a lot of deferred maintenance that needs attention. The pool was not cleaned and ready for use. And was not adequately cleaned throughout the weekend. The hot tub was not turned on for daily use. The air conditioning has no temperature regulation, only off or on. The pavilion has not been completed for several years. The toilet door locks have been broken for years. Most importantly, the owner carries no property/liability insurance! When asked about that, he states it's too expensive and is cheaper to pay a medical claim then insurance. So he is now asking event producers to add him to their event insurance, without him paying a portion of that cost. He also inserts himself into the events without getting prior permission, especially creating unsafe space for women in the pool. The free range chickens have caused damage to private tents.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE NEST AND CLIFF IS A VERY AWESOME PERSON AND WLL HELP PLEASE YOUR EVERY NEED WHILE THERE I PERSONALLY GIVE THIS PLACE 5 STARS !!!
It's absolutely gorgeous and always a blast! The owner Cliff is amazing and incredibly generous. It's the perfect venue for weddings, camping, events, and everything you can think of.
