Gulf Beach Campground Introduce

Discover Turtle Beach Campground, previously known as Gulf Beach Campground, located at 8862 Midnight Pass Rd, Sarasota, FL 34242, USA. This campground falls under the Campgrounds & RV Parks category and offers direct access to the beach.

According to recent reviews, the primary positive aspect of Turtle Beach Campground is its location right by the beach. However, some visitors have expressed concerns. One reviewer described the campground as more akin to a small parking lot with small, sectioned-off camping spaces and found the staff to be rude and apathetic. They also noted that the close quarters and surrounding fence can lead to noise issues.

Another visitor mentioned that the cost, $70 for a tent site at the time of their visit, was overpriced and suggested considering a hotel in Siesta Key as an alternative. It's important to note that the campground is now reportedly run by the County, and a more recent review indicated a nightly cost of around $80. This recent review also mentioned that the spots are small and close to neighbors, but the facilities are clean, including showers, although the road can flood during rain. The camping pads, however, were noted as being okay during the flooding.

For local users seeking a Campgrounds & RV Parks option with beachfront access in Sarasota, Turtle Beach Campground (formerly Gulf Beach Campground) is a consideration. However, potential guests should be aware of the reported small campsite sizes, potential for noise due to close proximity of sites, and the cost, which some reviewers have found high. The availability of clean showers is a noted positive. It is advisable to check current pricing and potentially recent reviews for the most up-to-date information before making a reservation.

WAY overpriced. Rude and apathetic staff (I stood in the tiny office for almost 10 min before the guy at the desk even acknowledged my presence). This isn't even a campground; it's more like a small parking lot with tiny little squares sectioned out for people to camp in. It's right by the beach, which is the only positive. And probably the only reason they'll keep doing business. The close quarters and fence around the parking lot (i refuse to refer to this as a campground) makes for bad acoustics. If some jerk with loud children is up at 6 am, you're certainly going to hear it. If you visit Siesta Key, spend a few more bucks (yeah, it was $70 for our lousy tent site) and stay in a hotel. Oh, and it's actually called Turtle Beach Campground for the record. On the contrary, the public beach (Turtle Beach) right next door is nice for hanging out during the day.

Now run by the County. Spots are small and close to neighbors. Clean although road flooded during rain (pads were okay though). Right on the beach with clean showers. A bit on the pricey side for a government run Campground (~$80 per night)
