Absolutely a great campground. Large sites very well maintained. Dump is two sided with dumpsters for your trash. Unfortunately the pads are not level. Back to front is particularly difficult to get level. But overall, really nice sites. Definitely one of the best value campsites we've had on our three month trip!
If the unleashed dogs and barking all night wasn't bad enough, the mine field of dog shit in the site was enough to call this a one star campground. Then add the un-level sites, the untrimmed trees above the sites making it impossible for any trailer to back in without getting marred up. Wish I would have had the 3 star experience. Just bad luck I suppose.
This is not a hotel. It's a campground. It is mostly shady with some sites on the lake. All sites have at least electric hookups. Bathrooms are individual toilet/sink/shower rooms. Clean. The negative to this campground is that many sites are not level, so you'll need several leveling blocks. The campground hosts are very nice. Location is very convenient and not too far off the interstate.
We have RVed at Gun Creek several times. We appreciate that they have several full hook ups with a lake view. We get excellent dish reception, too. Lots of nice walking places. Clean bathrooms but no laundry on site. The host was very pleasant and the rangers make several inspection rounds every day. We will go again.
This place is terrible. We booked what was listed as a tent site and there wasn’t a level spot to be found. Went to shower, my shower had frogs in it, my husbands had a black widow spider in it. When we came back out there was not just one but THREE skunks in our site that we couldn’t get to leave. We eventually got them scared off for long enough to grab and pack our tent back up. We went to the Sure stay across the interstate and wasn’t even able to use our camping spot. I don’t recommend this campground at all. I’m hoping for a refund.
