My wife and spent three nights at the Hades Campground near Hanna, UT. We loved this campground. The surrounding country is beautiful as it is nestled against the Duchesne River. The campground is very quiet and clean. The road into the campground is a bit long with part of it washboard. Along the way, there are plenty of places to stop and explore along the river. The area also has quite a few free-range cattle. Each evening, we enjoyed the company of up to 21 of these friendly visitors. All three mornings, we could hear them mooing in the distance. It was a fun little quirk about the place. The one drawback, we reserved site 4, which we thought was up against the river, like it shows on the map on the website... it was not anywhere near the river and was, in fact, an interior site. DON'T GO BY THE SITE MAP ONLINE. There are only a few sites that are reserved the rest are first come, first serve. We arrived Sunday afternoon and there were plenty of sites available while we were there. I assume a Friday arrival may not be so lucky. We will be returning to Hades and, yes, we really liked site 4 and will be reserving it again.
This camp ground was wonderful. We found a spot that was away from most of the people. Stunning mountain views and right next to the water where there was fishing. Not only that but the people who worked in the Cafe, bar and gift shop a little bit down the road were very nice and welcoming. I cannot wait to go back here.
Perfect little campground. Clean and well maintained. Only down side is the wind can become very strong very fast. Keep all canopies and trailer awnings secured properly.
It's clean and isn't to hot. Plenty of shade trees and access to the creek.
Beautiful place to camp! Its pretty quiet and out of the way. Its a rather large site, with a river running next to it. Its been treated well, and is quite clean. Lots of shade from quakies and pine, its a great place to kickoff some hiking in the Uinta's.
