Customer Reviews
It is a long bumpy, curvy road off hiway 24 from Minturn. Do not take an RV over 10 feet. Very difficult to maneuver into a camp site. Cars and trucks, tenting, ok. Lots of college students hiking and backpacking.
Nice secluded campground. We rolled in around 9PM on a Saturday and, while the trailhead lot was packed, the campground was nearly empty. Spots are well spaced out. The road coming it isn't in the best shape but was easily passable in a Toyota Corolla. Bathrooms weren't the cleanest but there was plenty of TP. Had a lovely visit from a moose in the morning!
Great campground! Nice secluded sites with plenty of room and solitude. It's $15 dollars a night exact change. I had to pay partial in quarters and had a hard time getting them into the pay slot so bring cash. It's primitive there is a stream to get water but you must filter or treat it. The pit toilet was very clean but no TP so bring your own. Great trails leaving right from the campground. I did the Mount of the Holy Cross Climb.
Great hike, I recommend it to everyone!
Wasn't actually at campground, but rather the trail. Beautiful, easy to follow. We were too late for the wildflowers, and the smoke haze was horrific, but we still enjoyed the hike.
