Customer Reviews
This sounded like a great spot at a great price for tent campers. It was a nice location, but things were less than ideal. The good: View of lake is scenic! Nice shaded campground with some planted native plants that will be a bonus as they establish. The fire rings, picnic tables, and site equipment were nice. The shower water was hot. There is a boardwalk next to the lake, but it's very short, so it's not what I had envisioned. Easy access to a boat ramp and a couple of short piers. I saw a piebald squirrel on the road to the campground! The not so good: The bathroom isn't cleaned well, and not daily. There was bug debris on the walls, floors, and counter ( which did seem typical for other public restrooms in the area, but this is where I'm brushing my teeth each day). There was no mirror at all. I had to use the visor mirror in my car. The shower had plenty of hot water, but there were no shelves or hooks to hold anything in the shower. There was one hook to hold your clothes or bag on the door, but no seat to set things on or get changed inside the shower stall. There was a bench outside the stalls, but it was next to the entry door, with no sightline barrier. The handicap shower used a lawn chair as a seat, but the faucets were ADA. The campground host seemed mostly unavailable. When we knocked to check in, he didn't answer, and then 10 minutes later, we saw he was outside and caught up with him. I didn't expect an outlet at the site, but I thought I'd find one in the bathroom or on a wall. Other than what the host is plugged into, there are no outlets anywhere. You must be fully self-sufficient with any electric needs you may have. The lakeside bench I tried to use had poison ivy all around it. I'm not upset that I used this campground, but I'm glad it was only for a couple of days, and I'll try a different one next time.
Me and my wife were coming to scope of the camping site and to camp out there and went to use the restroom and shower and my wife felt unsafe using the shower on the woman's side due to the fact there is people living permanently on the woman's side with their own trail to the women's bathroom and their site where they camped out was behind the woman's bathroom and they had two RVs makeshift tents and canopies with tarps and look like Sanford and son out there so she use the shower on the men's side where I was at no customer service at all and felt unsafe due to the fact of the living terrain and condition they have put up behind the woman's showers the man was sitting there smoking a cigarettes with his wife looking at us the the place is a recreation and Park area we were practically pushed out by the people that were allowed to live there permanently. Will not be returning to this place
We spend 2 nights in the campground and we love it …the host came to check on us every day ..very quiet and peaceful place .
People who complain about a primitive campground in the woods for $10/night are plain stupid. This is a great campground with water and fire rings and barbeque pits at every site! Hot showers that last forever. Yes sometimes bugs but your in the woods so that is to be expected. The hosts are very nice if you follow the rules posted.
We love it here. Management is very friendly and the upkeep is great. The view at the lake is so peaceful. This is our 3rd time camping here and brought our kids this time.
