Halsted's Hideaway Campground

If you want to get away from it all and get your mind right than this is the place to go. Halsteds Hideaway is a gem out in the country where you wouldn’t expect a nice campground to be. Full hookup/sewer , laundry, shower house, rec room pool table with an addition coming soon, a large enough place to have tournaments for corn hole among other games in doors, safe from the elements with air conditioning. Need firewood or ice he has that as well. The owner goes above and beyond to make sure everyone has a good experience and also has fishing tournaments and other events throughout the year for all to enjoy especially the kids. Love this place and the most important for me is a good clear night for star gazing.

Beautiful campground, always a great experience every year we come down. Nice and relaxing time away from home with all the accommodations and more! I promise you won't regret camping at Halsted's Hideaway.

We spent our weekend lodging here while venturing to the flea market during the day. This is a nice getaway for all ages. It has all the basics needed for camping: shower, bathroom, wood, ice, and security. Hooks up for all. The campground is kept neatly, beautiful pond for fishing, and much more when warmer months come.

We love this place! The camping spots, lake and grounds are beautiful. They take great pride in their campground and the personal greeting and customer service is amazing. We will definitely return with our family road trips in the future.

Another wonderful weekend of great family fun at Halsted’s Hideaway Campground. This place is just awesome, that’s all there is to it! A very well kept, very clean, and family friendly campground that is safely secure, and definitely caters to the clientele. In speaking with the owner, he mentioned the fact that he is always updating and adding on facilities available for all campers should they need laundry, a warm shower or toilet accommodations, all of which have been updated or built new within the past 1-3 years. They have a building with a pool table in it, and another building in which you can play games, such as corn hole, and they even host tournaments several times a year, and that is so fun! The building is air conditioned and a great place just to sit and visit with other campers and make new friends! A beautiful pond where you or your children can enjoy fishing, swimming, a beach for sunbathing or just floating in the pond to stay cool. They also provide ice and firewood, should you need those, and the cost is minimal. They provide plenty of RV hookups, or if you want to bring a tent, there are also primitive sites available. In this day and age, getting away for a weekend with family to avoid the hustle and bustle of a very busy life, the quiet family atmosphere is so refreshing at Halsted's Hideaway Campground, and one that we definitely look forward to visiting. Golf cart trail is also readily available for your leisure. I just can’t say enough about this place, it’s just heaven away from home…definitely a 5 star facility, and the owner and employees are so friendly, and always looking for ways to accommodate their clientele so everyone has a great family experience while visiting the campground. WE WILL CERTAINLY BE BACK AGAIN AND AGAIN!!!!
