Based on customer reviews, the Hampton Inn Morro Bay is a relatively new and decently clean hotel with modern facilities. However, there are some significant concerns regarding noise levels, particularly for rooms located near the elevators' mechanical room.
Several reviewers have reported experiencing noise issues throughout their stay, which significantly impacted their comfort. Additionally, the hotel's location is not ideal for those who prefer to walk around Morro Bay, as it is not within close proximity to many attractions.
There have also been reports of inconsistent service, including issues with room readiness at check-in and downgrading reservations. Housekeeping services have been criticized, with some reviewers noting a lack of daily cleaning and insufficient attention to detail. The price point has also been questioned relative to the provided services.
The hotel offers typical breakfast options, which are generally considered adequate. Some staff members, like Garrett at the front desk, have been praised for their helpfulness and recommendations.
In summary, Hampton Inn Morro Bay offers modern accommodations, but potential guests should be aware of reported noise issues, inconsistent housekeeping, and location limitations. It is recommended to request a room away from the elevators and to clarify any service expectations before booking.

Not a great location if you’re hoping to walk around Morro Bay. Most importantly, don’t let them put you in a room near the elevators, NOISY! The whole place was rather noisy, but we had the room right behind the elevators mechanical room and ALL NIGHT it was so loud. We tried to check in early and our room was not ready and they told us to come back in about a half hour or so… so we went and walked around a while and came back just before 3, which is check-in time, and attempted to check in again. We were told that the room was still not ready and that we could give it another 30 minutes or so for the room we booked or they could downgrade our reservation and get us into a room now. We decided to go ahead and downgrade the room and they put us in the room right next to the elevators mechanical room. It was so loud and we didn’t get great service. We were also told that the rate would decrease because we were downgrading the room but the price was still the same when we checked out and got our receipt. Overall, not a great experience, but it’s a fine hotel. It’s decently clean and still pretty new so everything works fine.
Decent place, typical breakfast options. $451.92 for 2 nights and no housekeeping. I had to request clean towels and trash removal after the first night. For $225.00 a night (tax incl), housekeeping should be daily and the top of my headboard should have been cleaned properly. I was able to write my name in the dust. If the rate was reasonable for this level of accommodation, I would have overlooked the dust. Obviously the housekeeping could use improvement. Garrett, at the front desk was great and provided an excellent recommendation for dinner.
The staff and rooms are nice. But my room way next to some kind of noise that went on all night. It was like the content sound like ice machine or rat in wall. And above me sounded like a hallway with stomping. Did not sleep. When to desk at 220am to see what it could be but he did not know. So if you stay here don't do 111 room
This hotel was nice and very well located, not even half a mile away from the big rock and the beach. I’m giving it 5 stars on everything but it would be a bit nicer if the guy at the front desk could be more welcoming to the people coming in or leaving, seems like he doesn’t want to talk to anyone. There was a young lady who was very nice and always checking on how everyone was doing, I don’t know if she was the manager, but she’s doing a great job in making sure that customers are in good hands. I appreciate her.
Beautiful and New. However, doors close very hard and wakes everyone up. My neighbor up above was so loud walking and whatever they were doing. Heard them an hour bumping and moving in the evening, then at 3:30 to 4:15. Had to play white noise. Eventually they quieted. The manager called us at 4:30 🕟 said he stood outside out door we were loud. The doors are heavy and a gap and you can literally see the light from the hall. 2 old ladies relaxing, woke up from whomever above. I didn’t complain until manager called. He said we hadn’t told him. I just waited the noisy folks above. Didn’t want to cause trouble. Then to be called out we were loud walking and ugh. 😩. Definitely problem with echoing of the walls, doors, upstairs people walking. If you need sleep make sure your down the back of hall. Young man was very accusative of us. However I understand and he needed to knock ✊ on door not call and be assuming we were trouble. Oh well. I heard door across open and close about 10 times. But I understand a Mama trying to comfort a 3 year old.
