Hampton Inn Muskegon

UPDATE: I contacted the property and Hilton before I posted this review. They both did nothing. They didn't care and at first even ignored my complaint, it wasn't until I emailed them a few times that they even responded to tell me there was nothing they could do. I see Hilton responded to this review. If Hilton actually cared about it's customers, they would have worked with me originally. If they are serious about keeping a customer, they will look up the complaint under my name and get back with me. My prediction, they won't. If you want a nice stay for an affordable price, there are a dozen other hotels around, don't go here. We usually have nice experiences with Hilton/Hampton Inn's, this is the exception. At 7am in the morning, the fire alarm went off. The hotel was evacuated as I would expect it to be. Being woken up and sent outside in freezing temps because of a fire doesn't upset me. What upsets me is doing that because an employee was smoking in a stairwell. My wife talked directly to the fire department to find that was the cause. We got no apology. When I contacted the manager and customer service, they ignored me. When I contacted them again months later, they told me I waited too long to do anything and their hands were tied. I will not visit a Hilton or Hampton Inn again.

Horrible experience. No monitoring people kids running the halls screaming all night long. The pool area and hot tub is a joke. Packed with kids no room at all to relax or enjoy the pool or hot tub. Advertise a breakfast went down at 8:00am no food left at all. The place is dirty and disgusting. Waste of 210.00 absolutely ridiculous.

Booked a room for my daughter to be able to swim for her birthday. Took 10 minutes for the worker to stop talking to help us. Another 15 just to check in then was kicked out 20 minutes later for having more than 4 people present in the room at one time. (Not staying the night just visiting) Never have i been to a hotel where they moniter how many people are present in a room at once and yell at guest as they are entering an elevator. Im not super big on hotels to begin but I will not be coming to this one again.

I stayed one night at property checked out 2/27 Lets start with positive, Day time staff was empathetic and helpful, unfortunately only met the staff the morning I was leaving but at least they took care of one problem. Room was large and spacious and coffee was hot :) Gym was ok though treadmill seen better days. The down sides: 1. Check process was odd! Didn't get my ekey and two guys at front said your room is ready! Said ok send me the e-key and asked me for my ID and took a while to even give me an actual key! Then I had to ask for bottle of water, normally its handed to you while saying thank you for being Diamond member! 2. While room was large it was outdated, the couch is so broken hardly any support. Recommend to get new one. 3. I did quick work emails then went to gym. When I got back to shower and use bathroom, I noticed toilet hasn't been cleaned (see pic) and bathtub floor is coming apart (see pic), to top it off Shampoo, conditioner and body wash bottles ALL EMPTY! I showered using bar of soup. On way out to go grab me a drink, I informed Front desk and I got deer in headlight look as if SO WHAT you are in motel 6 here buddy not Hilton!!!! Finally I asked him do you have shampoo and conditioner or do I need to go buy some! guy look at drawer said I only have shampoo and bar of soap! Didn't offer to take care of toilet or refill bottles! 4. I avoided the Whirlpool in the room. Reason based on bathroom condition and whirlpool had long hair on side plus one jet missing, this indicated hasn't been cleaned and most likely is good bacteria infestation in it.

I travel a lot, like to stay at Hilton properties...this was 1 of my poor experiences with a Hampton. Room looked old/outdated, shower fixture had a crack, small sink, no ironing board, vending machine was broken, shower curtain kept slipping so bathroom floor was soaked. Not a great experience, will go back to Hampton in Holland next time
