The desk receptionist at night when we checked in was a sweetheart! It was wonderful to have fresh coffee and hot chocolate, which she told us she was getting ready to set out! Breakfast was delicious and the price was surprisingly low for a Hampton Inn. But, it had all the nice touches Hamptons usually have, clean rooms, plenty of towels, comfortable, clean beds. There’s a small indoor pool that was warm and my son had a blast after a long day of driving. Worth every penny!
I am giving this place an overall rating of two stars secondary to the staff (nightshift). Long story short ... Our Resort at WorldMark was not ready on Saturday so we booked a night here. My wife has a membership with Hilton and we stay at a lot of Hamptons Inns & Hilton's. This specific one was not up to par. I was exhausted from driving all day and I basically went straight up to the room to rest after we checked in at 8:00 p.m. my son went down to get hot chocolate (he is also used to the Hilton standard and enjoys getting hot chocolate when we stay there). Not only was there no hot chocolate, but he went in the concessions room to look in there & he couldn't find any. A very rude black lady who was the receptionist on night shift came in and accused him of stealing a pack of gum which he did not. My son is a very honest boy and has never stolen anything in his life (he's 10 years old). This really hurt his feelings to be accused of something he did not do. I should rate this hotel one star specifically because of that staff worker. Youbshould never make false accusations when you don't know the truth. Honestly she should be reprimanded for that. The rooms were probably a four-star rating. The pool room had some major issues. Improper ventilation. Water dripping from the ceilings including the one in the bathroom. Everything in the bathroom was rusty, the toilet paper rolls were soaking wet. They need to do some better attention to detail as far as the employees of this place go to get it back up to par.
I’m not snooty by any means and I’d like to think my standards are realistic but this is the worst hotel room I have ever stayed in. Mold all in the bathroom, furniture in despair and the A/C unit had gunk all in the vents. Completely unacceptable. I complained to management and all they did was apologize. This was my first time at a Hampton Inn and it will be my last. I will give credit where credit is due though and say the breakfast was decent and I was late to booking for a wedding weekend and they did accommodate me by matching the same price as the wedding block. Edit to add: After talking with customer service about my experience they reimbursed me half which I was very grateful for!
I can see how this hotel was exemplary at one time. Easy to locate right off the highway. I mean you hear the highway. They were painting, which is better for the off season. No AC in the hallway. Room had a smell. Homeless sleep on the patio furniture. I was assigned through work. Would never stay here of my own choice.
Checked in late but went smoothly. Had a studio room it was nice and clean. The pillows are to die for. I slept like a baby. It is in an area so there is not much noise from any traffic. I have another night to stay and looking forward to it.
