Hampton Inn Norwich

It's probably the nicest Hilton property we've visited in the Northeast. Bright, modern, clean. Great shuttle to Mohegan. The snacks at the front desk were brutally expensive. "Other properties those are free" Our room was on the quiet "cemetery" side. ;) The other side is a highway. Stay was short. Pleasant. Perfect.

The hotel was Self Check-in, which is pretty nice. The rooms were fresh and new. The bathroom floors were clean but sticky. The breakfast was pretty good, and it was included with the price of the room. But the funny thing was they had bottles of water with a sign that said, "we've got you covered" but they wanted you to leave three dollars a bottle. Most hotels, I say that provide complementary bottles of water.

I loved this hotel. It's clean. Updated. They have a great in ground saltwater pool! There is a bar open on the weekend. Really reasonable drink prices. Food prices, too. Buffalo Chicken wings for $10 that would feed a crowd. There is a shuttle to and from Mohegan Sun on the weekends. Free breakfast. The beds were super comfy. I will definitely return.

Much newer Hampton Inn, which is conveniently located to the I395. The hotel was very well maintained, clean and welcoming. Special thanks goes out to Michelle Hopkins, Assistant General Manager, for making our stay very pleasurable and rewarding. The room had a very nice layout and the bed was comfortable. The hotel has an exercise room, pool with spa and several general-purposes rooms available to their guests. There are more than enough parking spaces at the hotel to accommodate all their guests. We did notice the hotel’s general areas and hallways were very cold due to the air conditioning, which was a little bit of an overkill. As for the morning breakfast, well that could do with a little more improvement. The food was primarily packaged eggs, sausages, home fries, etc., and lacked any flavor or taste. However, there are a few things you can find to eat, at least to hold you over until lunch. Overall, would stay at this location again, primarily because of the staff and the rooms in general.

If you have the option, ask for a room on the cemetery side. The other side faces the highway and can get a little loud. The rooms are clean and updated looking, so that's cool. There's a Mohegan shuttle (at least there was on the Friday we stayed), so if you're heading in for a big drinking night, that'll help. Pool, bar open late, breakfast until 1000 (I think); this place checks all the blocks. 10/10 would stay again.
