Hampton Inn Oak Ridge Knoxville

Recently I stayed here with a rowing team, we all arrived at different times, I was quite early. As I waited in the lobby area Chris did everything in his power to expedite my room being available to me. Chris also made sure I had everything I might need, snacks, drinks, information on the area, plug in for my computer, etc. I was quite comfortable and when my room did open, I continued to stay in the lobby since I was enjoying the music, company and atmosphere. Thanks, Chris, for making my stay away from home feel so comfortable! Other employees deserve credit as well, unfortunately I do not have all the names. But while here I felt the staff went above and beyond! Also, must mention that the breakfast was pretty awesome. Keep in mind this is a hotel free continental breakfast…..but I am not kidding the eggs were quite tasty. The selection offered was wide for all tastes. Each day there the selections changed a bit to keep things interesting and fresh but always there were options for people of all tastes and dietary restrictions. Awesome job to the creative people putting this together. I also appreciated that the paper plates were paper not Styrofoam (for our environment). My room was typical. Comfortable bed and pillows of varying softness, room was clean. Soaps and lotion were provided in the bathroom and soft large towels, shower was clean. Thank you to the staff here for caring service, Chris set the tone immediately for a wonderful stay, I will most definitely return!

The hotel staff were all very nice and welcoming. I had an issue with an extreme mold and mildew odor in my room (210). The staff were able to move me to a new room for my second night, and even packed and moved all of my belongings to my new room. The housekeeping manager even placed all of my things just as I had left them in my previous room, which was impressive. The breakfast area was clean and a nice start to the morning. Skylar assisted me with switching rooms and I appreciate all of her assistance. Overall the hotel is much older and need of updating, however the bathroom seems to have been recently renovated so I was pleased with that. Just a little more attention to detail in dusting the entertainment center, ensuring bathroom floors are clean (room 210), and ensuring there are no strong odors is what's needed for the future. It is however conveniently located just minutes from the Y-12 National Security Complex, which was the reason for my visit.

Very clean hotel with pleasant smelling rooms (light clean scent, non headache inducing). Wonderful guest services, who were able to make generous togo bags in the morning since we are leaving before breakfast. Hot water, tea, coffee and cold water station open downstairs with lots of options. When reserved online, they boasted Neutrogena products, which we're not in the rooms, but the products they had were very lovely and lightly scented. The beds were firm yet comfortable but the pillows were lacking as they feel flat with any weight. I was in a end room that faced the road and Sonic, and heard no traffic or outside noises I was able to rest well other than the pillow issue. Amenities included coffee pot, mini fridge, microwave, and television all which were very clean. My only real issues was that parking lot was very icy and dangerous, and only the drop off point was clear of Ice, I expected better maintenance in that area. Additionally the pool which was very cute and clean looking, had a very strong chlorine smell, a probably maintain pool should not smell, as chlorine smell means there is an imbalance in the waters chemistry such as urine or sweat.

This by far exceeded our expectations. We had just stayed 3 nights in an over priced "luxury" hotel in Pigeon forge and this hotel put them to shame. Upon arrival we were granted access to our room and we were immediately impressed when entering the room we were greated by the fresh crisp smell of a clean room. There was ample space for our luggage and charging stations. The bathroom was wonderfully bright, white, moden and clean. I loved the nightlight so my husband and son didn't wake when I went to the bathroom in the early morning. The front desk was very responsive and helpful. We were so comfortable that we felt well rested to drive back home.

I travel at least 2 nights a week for work and this location is spot on for what to expect from Hilton as of late. The rooms are mediocre at best and even though they advertise “free hot breakfast” don’t hold your breath. I have stopped by two separate times this morning looking to get breakfast only to find empty trays and stale biscuits. This is not the first time this has happened. While staying at a Hampton in Pearl, MS I had to wait at the front desk for almost 30 minutes before anyone came to the front desk to check me in and the next morning there was no coffee or breakfast all morning long.
