Hampton Inn South Haven

I gave the hotel three stars because they appear to not be interested in taking care of the hotel itself. As an example, the elevator has been "temporarily out of service" for about 4-6 weeks now. I have elected to stay in first floor rooms due to this. Another example--I needed to print something a few nights ago and found that there is no computer in the office area, just a printer. The staff are very nice and the room service folks do a really great job of cleaning rooms.

The staff were REALLY nice. My family & I felt welcomed & comfortable. The room was a bit dated, however it was clean & well kept. The lobby was decorated for the holidays which gave it an instant home like feel which our young children enjoyed.

The room was much smaller than we expected. But we were looking forward to the in room jacuzzi. The elevator was un reliable and we were reluctant to use it. Being on the 3rd floor, we were counting on using it. This is my first time ever with a less than 5 star review. We had a beautiful sunset on arrival. But our wall to wall curtain revealed a 3 foot window in the corner, next to the built-in desk. Then 8 foot of brick wall. Awkward to view the sunset from our room.

Room looks clean, but upon entering there was a stinkbug crawling on the desk. The tv settings can’t be changed at all except for volume, so don’t bother bringing any consoles or other systems. It’s also set at the brightest setting, which is harsh on the eyes and again, you can’t change that. The hot water dispenser at the breakfast bar let out yellowish water and black specs, I did confirm with an empty cup that it wasn’t my tea.

The staff were courteous and friendly and helped direct me to the VA when I needed help was able to get a room same day and they did allow pets with a pet fee (not deposit) overall pretty nice hotel. The breakfast offerings were really good, pool facilities are on site, but I didnt use that. The only gripe is probably the elevator which makes terrifying noises as it operates.
