Hampton Inn & Suites Benton Harbor

Excellent hotel! Great staff and room was TOP NOTCH - and my micro examining attitude was completely unnecessary! Beds were PERFECT, rugs and every part of bathrooms were CLEANED to a shine! Even the ice machine worked perfectly! Hallways were clean and though the parking lot was over half full, our Sunday 10pm check in meant we saw no one that night except ONE person on my ice machine run. Fell asleep quickly and was glad of the thick comforter and wonderful bed! Got to breakfast at 8:30 and what a relaxing dining experience- Lots of seating and 4 tables tucked in away from the main room for privacy! Sure do wish I’d gotten pictures of that because I’ve never seen that in a hotel. I did get a picture of parts of the main room. At breakfast, The little triangle biscuits were not something I had ever seen in all of my too much time in hotels traveling. I really liked that there was a big screen TV with the news going on because my traveling partner likes to keep up on that type of thing. Such a wide variety of seating in the breakfast area too is not normal to me like there were barstools & low chairs, comfy chairs, bench seating. It was just wonderful. Must leave word about the food because I’m used to standard hotel fair and this was a step above. Pretty sure I didn’t get a picture of the one steamer that had three separate items in it, with first being a hefty portion of scrambled eggs and in the middle were fried potatoes and then at the end was sausage. Loved the assortment of condiments but I must say the block of ice with the yogurts on top was unexpected! Actually was the best meal of the entire week long trip - and that includes a $50 banquet, so you know this breakfast had to be amazing and comfortable, not rushed at all.

We booked a reservation for this hotel over two months ago. Since then, we have read a few reviews filled with drama and we started to wonder if we made the right choice. We did. We stayed here earlier this week, and it was wonderful. It's a newer hotel, well maintained, very clean with comfortable beds and the shower was an A+. The breakfast buffet was good, and the hotel is 2 minutes from I-94. I spoke to several people at the front desk, several housekeepers and the nice woman that does the buffet. They were all super friendly and very accommodating. This will be our go to hotel when we visit Michigan again next year.

The room and hotel was clean that's where the good ends. The bathroom door was a joke, it was a hard to push barn door that I almost smashed my fiance with because I didn't know he was looking in the closet when I was coming out of the bathroom. (Photos included) It didn't close all the way and there was also no working exhaust fan. The beds were terrible I woke up feeling like I got hit by a bus. My shoulder and hips were sore for days afterwards. The noise level was insane. Between the barn door and the people galloping up and down the hallway I wasn't sure if we were staying in a hotel or in the Budweiser barn full of clydesdales. The closing mechanism on all the room doors caused it to slam and shake the whole room including the bed you're supposed to be sleeping in. Every time someone would go in or out of their room it would cause a huge explosion of noise and rattle the whole room. There was also an extremely annoying creaking/ rubbing noise everytime you walked past the cabinet under the tv. Don't even get me started on the ignorant children staying down the hall from us running up and down stomping in front of people's doors with the "sleeping in" signs on them. Overall a terrible place to stay. I would not recommend it if you actually want to sleep.

We had a very nice 2 night stay. I had booked the room over the phone due to an issue with the online booking not accepting a particular discount code. Nicole was very friendly and helpful with our reservation. All the staff we encountered were very friendly. The room was clean and stocked with what we needed. The breakfast was pretty basic for what you find for a continental breakfast, but it was good. We had zero issues during our stay. Ignore the negative comments in the list of reviews. This is a good place to stay. We would stay here again.

Went here for a family reunion and I really enjoyed the hotel. Staff was nice and breakfast was good. Brittany at the front desk was so great, we had my grandma there and she was so helpful and caring to her. It really made us feel at home. I appreciate everything Brittany did, she definitely went above and beyond and my grandma really enjoyed talking to her! You have a great employee there Hilton! Definitely will be back!
