Hampton Inn & Suites Clermont

I called this hotel as I was making a long drive through Florida to book for the night. They transferred me to a call center where they asked me if I was a Hilton honors member and if I was a government employee. Then they gave me the room reservation. They didn’t provide any other info. I get to the hotel, it’s almost midnight. They tell me that one, I needed to provide a government ID. And two, that I had to be on government business. Neither of these things were previously told to me, I am on a personal trip and obviously didn’t bring my ID. They informed me then that the room was now over $100 more or I could cancel and wander around now at midnight trying to find a new hotel. The front desk staff was all excuses—we didn’t make the reservation, that’s the call center, not our fault. Not at all nice. Not sympathetic. Just it’s not our problem. No offer to make amends. Nothing. Terrible hotel with terrible service. Will be calling corporate too. Obviously I would have booked somewhere else but now having driven five hours after a full day of work, tired and already here, I’m stuck.

We needed a place to stay in a pinch while visiting family in the Clermont area. Hampton Inn came through! Our previous accommodations were a hot hot mess. Considering it was Christmas day, the patience and understanding the front desk person extended to me was so very wonderful. The location of the hotel is at the top of a hill, but I promise there are no creepy "the shining" vibes. The atmosphere was very calm, almost serene. Our room was average and pretty comfortable. The thermostat was actually on the wall and made temp control that much easier! Beds were pretty comfortable, with the exception of the duvet cover. That was a little scratchy, but then again are you even supposed to sleep with a duvet cover on the blanket? I don't know these things. I see a bed and know I should sleep in it, duvet covers be damned! The room was very quiet, one could hear the faintest padding around of the neighbors. All in all, the room was pretty comfortable. It slept three of us pretty well. Breakfast was a nice little bonus, very tasty with a decent selection of items! I would definitely stay here again, hands down no questions asked. The rate I paid was pretty standard; honestly, I'm not 100% sure what I paid because I just needed to get my family into better accommodations real quick! I know it wasn't astronomical. With that said, if you're in the area and need a place to rest your weary bones, shack up in the Hampton Inn and Suites! Fair price, comfortable rooms, hot shower, plenty of towels, a pool, lovely staff, and a tasty breakfast!

Great hotel! The room appeared to be renovated, and was extremely clean! The room had a refrigerator and a microwave which was very convenient. The bed was also very comfortable. The free breakfast was very good, as they provided a wide variety of foods. The staff were all very friendly! The hotel itself was quiet and offered a variety of amenities. I would defiantly stay at this hotel again!

We specifically called the hotel to ensure that my spouse would be able to check in before I was able to as I was going to be arriving later. Person on phone confirmed and when my husband arrived about 30 minutes later he was denied by the front desk who was unwilling to assist simply saying that he’s been there for past hours and he didn’t speak to anyone and he wouldn’t accommodate. Said if we spoke to someone else from the hotel that it wasn’t valid so now my husband had to wait for hours until I arrive. Why did we waste our time speaking to someone on the phone only for the reservation to be disregarded altogether. 0/0 service legit ridiculous start to what should be a nice first night of vacation…

Quick two night trip for a wedding in the area. Had a wonderful stay. Giselle at the front desk was the sweetest. Hotel is dog friendly (they do charge a fee) so that was nice that we were able to bring her. Clean. Friendly staff. Buffett breakfast included with stay.
